Meet The Locals - Paris & London Family Tours

We have booked with Meet the Locals twice - once in Paris and once in London with Christelle and Katherine respectively. My 10 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time on both tours and learned so much about each city, it's history, it's food and much more. I would highly recommend Meet the Locals - their warm service was great from end to end - from booking the tours with customizations to meet our needs to the tours themselves. Our tour was absolutely FABULOUS! Nathalie was fantastic. The clue game kept my son (and all the rest of us) engaged and excited to explore the area. She gave us such great information and was so kind. It was an absolutely wonderful experience!

We booked two tours. The booking was easy and Thomas was great with suggestions that would work for our family. First one we did was with Sebastien at the Louvre and second with Nathalie for a food tour in St Germain. Both were fantastic! They kept our teens entertained which is not an easy task. They were knowledgeable and mixed history and fun making both days a unique experience for us. We highly recommend them.

We had a wonderful time in Paris with MTL. Our local Christelle was great! She kept us company for the entire week, was extremely knowledgeable and was most importantly (for me) great with our 3 kids. Her presence gave us ample opportunity to take in the sights of Paris without worrying about the young ones. The planning was great too!! Skipping the lines and the exclusivity of experiences made our trip extremely meaningful. The kids are still talking about the trip.

Our tour with Cindy was amazing! She did a great job keeping my daughter engaged with the tour even though Leo is not fond of museums. The Activity Booklet really helped to give her something to do other than just listen passively. My daughter had only two goals for the Louvre: to see the Mona Lisa (easy) and to see a painting of a cat (not easy). Thanks to our guide we accomplished both plus a lot more. I'm not sure I would have even tried to take Leo to the Louvre without Cindy, but with her help we had a great experience!

We did the Lourve tour with one 6y.o, one 4y.o and one 3 month old in a pram. We had marcela and she was really great! She helped navigate the Lourve in an easy way so that we were able to see the key displays while the kids got to enjoy the game. Very patient and helpful!Merci beaucoup Marcela!

Visiting the world famous Louvre is both awe-inspiring and intimidating as it is a gorgeous museum with well known works of art, but it can be difficult to navigate such an enormous place with hordes of other visitors. We decided to hire a private guide to make the most efficient use of our time. I also wanted to ensure that both of our daughters (11 & 9 years old) learned as much as possible while keeping things fun and interesting for them. I found Meet The Locals via Google search for guides that catered to families and made arrangements with the co-founder, Dominique, through their website and email.We met our guide, Sophie, at the Passage Richelieu entering from the Rue de Rivoli. It is a spectacular way to enter the museum as you walk beneath the grand arches and approach the glass pyramid with the bright sunlight streaming into the courtyard. Dominique, had emailed us a photo of our guide in advance and we had sent her a photo of us so that we could easily identify each other. Once we had made contact, Sophie led us to the entrance. We were able to skip the line and quickly entered the museum for the tour. Sophie gave each of our daughters an activity booklet and a pencil to use throughout the tour. The tour was designed to be interactive, educational, and fun.My wife and I had been to the Louvre many years ago before the children were born. Although that visit was enjoyable, having Sophie as a private guide made this second visit brilliant. We learned so much more with Sophie explaining fascinating details that we completely missed on our first visit. By piquing the curiosity of our daughters with the activity booklets and cue cards, Sophie made the Louvre visit into an educational mystery game for the girls. It was such a delight to see them so keen to participate in the game. There was no chance of them getting bored during this tour. On more than one occasion, I observed other families eavesdropping on Sophie during our tour and I could hear their children asking to participate in the same activity as our daughters.Sophie bonded well with our daughters and she made our visit to the Louvre a wonderfully memorable one. The tour lasted about two and a half hours, but it seemed shorter as time passed quickly with the girls actively listening and participating. If we had wanted a longer tour, Sophie could have easily arranged one, but it was an ideal length of time for us.We ended our tour with a delicious lunch at Café Marly beside the museum.I highly recommend using Meet the Locals to enhance any visit you plan to make to Paris with children.

Our tuk-tuk tour of Paris and food tour of the Marais with Yaelle was the highlight of our time in Paris! We are so glad we set up this tour with Meet the Locals! Prior to our visit I spoke to Albane multiple times to customize our day to the must see things we wanted to do on our list. Touring by tuk tuk was a great way to hit the top sites and quickly. Finishing our time in the Marais was perfect and we ended up going back and spending more time there based on all of Yaelle's suggestions. I've already recommended this company to multiple people I know traveling to Paris in the coming months.

Excellent private tour guide! Knowledgeable, patient, on time, engaging for the whole family. We did the scavenger hunt at the Louvre with Marine. The kids were so invested in her stories and explanations. She’s a great storyteller and helped us focus on areas of the museum that we would’ve missed. Her light heartedness was appreciated and she knew exactly how to navigate around crowds and large tour groups. She whisked us in and around various key sculptures, artifacts and paintings all the while demonstrating deep knowledge of art history and architecture. I would 100% book again with this company.

We did two tours through Meet the Locals. One was a Family Chocolate/Pastry tour in the Marais and one was a 7-hour tour which included the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Arc du Triomphe. For both tours, our guides were absolutely incredible. Nathalie led the Marais tour and Sebastien and Cindy let the longer tour. We were traveling with 4 adults and 4 kids, none older than 9. Despite the subject matter of the Louvre, etc., our guides kept the tour exciting for the children (via mini-scavenger hunts) and enlightening for the parents. Both were truly the highlights of our Paris visit, and I'd recommend Meet the Locals to anyone of any age. The guides truly love what they do, you and you tell you are in good hands very early in the process. I am excited to use Meet the Locals again the next time I am in their service areas. Highly recommend!
