Beware!!! We've had a most unfortunate experience dealing with this hotel. We made a reservation deposit in October of 2019 for travel in June of 2020. Due to Covid international flight cancellations, we were unable to travel and requested a refund of our deposit which was 570 Euros. The hotel cancellation was made in writing on May 6, 2020 once we knew that France was on lock-down and there was no way we could travel from the US to Avignon, Philippe told us that we would receive a refund (minus a 75 Euros commission fee) but we would have to wait until December of 2021 for it to be refunded due to a French degree regarding Covid-related refunds. We have waited patiently for over two years since the deposit funds were charged to our Visa account, and still we have not received a refund. Our recent emails are ignored, even though we have been more than patient. In all of our many years of international travel, we have never encountered a situation where the hotel refuses to issue a refund even though we cancelled the reservation well in advance. We should have received a refund for our deposit minus a 75 Euros cancellation fee but here it is two years later, and we have still not received a refund even though we have given the owner of this hotel all of the information he requested. Very unhappy with the unscrupulous way the Thames Resort Hotel conducts business!!!
