Chalet Alpaca

Stayed in Alpaca on a Skibeat holiday in Feb 2017. I hesitated when booking because I couldn't find any reviews online, so I'm now looking to correct that!The chalet is right next to the Parchey chairlift and Poney blue run into Plan Peisey so it's possible to ski both to and from the door. There are two nearby ski schools (ESF and Generation). I went with ESF because Generation didn't have the class running that I needed, but they are recommend by Skibeat (unsure the basis of that, worth checking). When you visit, download the Yuge app which has an interactive piste map showing busy areas to avoid, as well as restaurants and toilets. I found it hugely useful.The chalet itself has 4 bedrooms; 2 on the first floor with a mini living room, and 2 on the ground floor. This is perfect for 2 groups of 4, as it means you both have some privacy. On the ground floor, there is a large living area with comfy sofa and wood burning stove. Furnishings are basic like with a lot of French ski accommodation but it is very comfy, rooms are cleaned daily and it is very kept to an excellent standard.There is strong wifi and a good cloakroom with heated boot warmers. The chalet is catered (via Skibeat) and there is no chance of you going hungry! Cakes and bread aplenty (see pictures). If you prefer to eat healthily or just want some extras, the Sherpa supermarket is 4 mins walk away (note: it closes between 12:00 and 15:00). I bought things like salad, beef and chicken from there, although ended up eating the meals as well as they were so delicious (thanks to our host, Sam!).La Vache is a pub 5mins walk away. They serve very good pub food e.g. burgers, curry, salads. They also show the football and rugby.Ski equipment and ski passes are delivered direct to the chalet so on our first day, when we arrived at 14:00, I was able to go out skiing for the afternoon. A company called Massage Me will come to the chalet to give a different range of massage treatments. 'Beanie and Boots' (i.e. head, shoulders and legs) is amazing, there's never a time that you need it more!Overall a great chalet in a great location, highly recommended!
