We were delighted with our eight night stay at Au Coeur de Beaufort where we were warmly welcomed by Karin and Rafe McKenna. They are very kind and we were truly given a five star treatment!Au Coeur de Beaufort is absolutely lovely. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Plus it had a large bathroom with all the amenities. The king size bed in our room was also wonderful - all the more reason to linger!Serenity is how I would best describe the pool and garden. It is a great place to relax in between sightseeing trips in the local area. The best part of our day was having breakfast in the garden. Rafe would get fresh croissants and bread from the village bakery each morning and serve them with jams, yogurt and compote, a different variety of fruit each day, soft boiled eggs, juice, coffee and tea.Getting around was made easy because Karin and Rafe were extremely helpful to us by booking restaurants, and making suggestions about where to go and what to see. There restaurant suggestions were always spot on.If you are not familiar with the area, Beaufort is set in a gorgeous part of Southwest France and surrounded by lush vineyards. The coast is about 30 minutes away, so it is possible to spend the day at the beach. We really enjoyed going to Minerve (must see), Narbonne and Carcassone - all within a 30-45 minute drive.We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning another stay at Au Coeur de Beaufort!
