Beautiful German military cemetery on a wooded hillside to the northwest of the village of Vignemont.The bodies of 5,333 men lie here, 3,802 of them in individual graves identified by large stone crosses. The remaining 1,531 men, 1,415 of them sadly unknown, lie together in a communal grave at the rear of the cemetery.The French national cemetery, containing the bodies of 3,108 French and 10 British soldiers, lies to the right of the German cemetery, separated by a line of fir trees.Both cemeteries are situated along a small track about 200 metres from the D41 road to Marquéglise. There is plenty of space to park and the cemeteries are included on a 4.5km walking trail, le circuit de la fontaine Saint-Pierre.
