Hôtel Reine Mathilde

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette chambre très spacieuse (lit 200 x 200, salle de bain suffisamment grande et tout le confort pour être tranquille) située en plein centre de Bayeux, dans une dépendance au calme, vraiment très agréable. Le personnel est très sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est servi jusqu'à 10h00 (14€/personne). Le seul bémol, indépendant de l'hôtel, est le tarif des parkings qui sont onéreux alors prenez vos baskets et trouvez une place gratuite, rare mais en cherchant on trouve.

From its excellent location to the attentive service, this hotel surpassed my expectations.First and foremost, the hotel's central location was a definite highlight. Situated in the heart of Bayeux, close to the town hall and the magnificent cathedral, it offered convenient access to the town's main attractions. Being able to explore the charming streets of Bayeux with ease was a true delight.The service provided by the staff was exemplary. Upon our early arrival, the hotel graciously allowed us to leave our luggage in a secured room, which was greatly appreciated. During check-in, they had even taken the initiative to move our luggage directly to our room once it was ready, showcasing their attentiveness and dedication to guest satisfaction.Despite the room being on the smaller side and lacking air conditioning, which would have been beneficial during the warm summer days, it still managed to provide a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The window offering a view of the back of the cathedral added a touch of beauty to the room. The bathroom, complete with a shower, was clean and well-maintained, further enhancing the overall comfort of our stay.One notable amenity was the presence of a coffee machine with Lavazza capsules. This thoughtful addition allowed us to enjoy a quality cup of coffee at our convenience, adding a touch of luxury to our mornings.The breakfast, although not included in the room rate, was well worth the additional cost. It featured a delightful selection of local products, including delicious butter, yogurt, and jams. The choice of bread and pastries was also impressive, ensuring a satisfying start to the day.Considering the overall experience, the price of our stay was more than justified. Hotel Reine Mathilde offers excellent value for money, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the beauty and charm of the wonderful small town of Bayeux.Negative Aspects:While my stay at Hotel Reine Mathilde was overwhelmingly positive, there were a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The room's size was on the smaller side, which might not be ideal for guests who prefer more spacious accommodations. Additionally, the absence of air conditioning could be inconvenient during particularly warm summer days, as it may affect the room's comfort level.However, despite these minor shortcomings, the overall experience at Hotel Reine Mathilde was highly enjoyable and left a lasting impression. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a charming and comfortable stay in the beautiful town of Bayeux.

Accueil chaleureux. Local vélo sécurisé avec possibilité d'attacher son vélo. Personnel très disponible. Petit déjeuner copieux avec une diversité de produit. Chambre propre et agréable. Lit confortable.

Great location in the historic part of town. Clean and quiet. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. The staff provides outstanding assistance. There is a restaurant and the food was good. I would be glad to stay there again.

C'est un hôtel dans un immeuble ancien (pas d'ascenseur) les chambres sont petites, certaines ont une vue sur la Cathédrale d'autres n'en ont pas. Le lit est très confortable. Il y a la clim. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux et diversifiés et le restaurant sert une très bonne cuisine

Our room was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the private courtyard for our morning coffee and croissants. The location was walkable to attractions, restaurants and cafes. Overall - we highly recommend!

Our stay at Hotel Reine Mathilde was fabulous. We cannot think of a better place in all of Normandy to stay. The location was perfect for walking at night to local restaurants and during the day to see the sights of Bayeux. The room was spacious and comfortable and the balcony spectacular for sitting with wine in the evenings. But one thing for sure you do not want to miss their breakfast buffet each morning!!! Wow! The breads and jams were phenomenal and the other items on the menu also very satisfying. We just happened to sign up the first morning and then we for sure signed up each morning after that to get our day started! Absolutely a 5 star rating from us....when we come back from Texas to visit again we will definitely stay at Reine Mathilde!

Hôtel situé dans le centre ville de Bayeux à deux pas de la cathédrale..pas de parking privé mais plusieurs parkings aux alentours.La chambre de taille correcte plutôt moderne, propre, et climatisée ce qui est agréable.La salle de bain un peu petite mais fonctionnel.Pour ma part il manque un rideaux occultant pour évite de se croire en plein jour dès le levé du soleil.Petit déjeuner bien garni, avec un large choix de produits salés et sucrés et on a apprécié les cakes maison appréciable pour un p’tit déjeuner à 14€ tout de même.Bon établissement et personnel agréable.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Reine Mathilde in August. We used Bayeux as our base for exploring the Normandy area. It was a perfect location for our 2-day Normandy tour pickup and our tour pickup for a day at Mont St. Michel. It was within easy walking distance of all the attractions in Bayeux, as well - tapestry, Cathedral, river walk and the charming shop-filled streets! We stayed in the annex across from the main hotel. It was worth a bit extra $ for a much larger, well-appointed comfortable room. The staff even placed our luggage in the room for us, which required hauling it across the street and up two sets of outdoor stairs! We had appetizers and a meal in their restaurant. Their food was very good. We would definitely stay here again!

Je n'ai testé que le restaurant Le Garde-manger. Accueil sympa. Le fish and ships était bon. Enfin... Le fish était bon mais les chips froides et molles. Dommage !

Excellent accueil dans cet hôtel remarquablement situé, juste sous la cathédrale et à 3 minutes à pied du musée de la broderie de Bayeux.La chambre parfaite pour un couple dispose de tout le confort et le petit déjeuner ( 12 euros) très bien servi sous forme de buffet.A beaucoup contribué à la réussite de ce petit break culturel.

Great location for taking a tour of Omaha beach. Clean room and good bed. Breakfast is good, but only hard boiled eggs. Customer service was friendly and efficient!

I made a mistake with my reservationSo I had to switch rooms but was very easy doing, staff aware from beginning (didnt have to repeat situation)they moved my bags while I was on a tourSo they were in my new room for me. I had a smaller room 1st 2 nights but was not a problem (most rooms in Europe are small) very comfortable.2nd room larger with view of Cathedralalso very comfortable.Right in center, close to everything, inclShort walk to train station.

Situé en plein centre de Bayeux, un hôtel très confortable, avec une prestation restauration de grande qualité.Je recommande.

Séjour très agréable.J'ai été surclassé dans une des dépendances de l'hôtel, dans une chambre luxueuse offrant des prestations très haut de gamme.Hôtel idéalement situé au pied de la cathédrale, le personnel est aux petits soins.Je recommande fortement et reviendrai sûrement.

Très bon accueil, le jeune homme à la réception très souriant et courtois.Nous avons été agréablement surpris par une chambre spacieuse, chaleureuse et très propre. Le petit dejeuner était parfait avec tout ce qu'il faut.Je recommande ce lieux pour en avoir fait d'autre, il vaut largement ses 5 étoiles
