Parking to reach the Grand Ballon. Good view in good weather. You can see the Mont Blanc!Must be careful when you cross the road because there’s no indication for the driver.

Un petit chemin part du parking en direction du sud. Les visiteurs attentifs voient une ligne de pierres qui pointe directement vers le Grand Ballon. On peut penser qu'il s'agit d'un drain. Ou peut-être s'agit-il d'une ligne magique qui fait référence à l'orientation astronomique des trois Belchen (ballons). Idéal pour une pause entre la bruyère (Calluna vulgaris), le saule salé (Salix caprea) ou la pensée jaune (Viola luthea).

Amazing view, easy to park, free, easy to reach at the end of a well maintained road. Some facilities (Inn to sleep and eat). And there is a little cafe which closes early but does not lock their tables so we could use them as picknick table, keeping the place clean afterwards as it is nice to see this sharing spirit still exists here :)

Nice parking lot down hill of Le Grand Ballon. Less crowdy than the main parking few km further down the road. There is a nice picnic spot at about 100m away at the top a the hill close by with view on the valley and Le Grand Ballon. Ideal to start hiking to the top of Le Grand Ballon. Hike takes about 2h30 min roundtrip on the panoramique trail with young kids. Make sure to take water with you and treats to keep the young motivated on the steep slope uphill.
