Besides staying at Paul's fantastically renovated large apartment just outside Barsac, I also spent 4 days with him visiting wineries in the Sauternes area, and also visited across the river at Loupiac and St. Croix du Mont. Two lesser known wine regions with some excellent producers. I am a very experienced wine lover. I was very impressed with how Paul was able to get me excellent visits at top wine domaines. Having run the Barsac wine shop for years, Paul is well known in the Sauternes area and has excellent contacts locally. Sauternes is an excellent, underpriced wine region. Very worth visiting. Be aware the town of Barsac has very little in it. Just a mediocre bakery/patisserie and tiny epicerie in which to buy food. No longer any restaurants. But Paul's place has a very nice, well equipped kitchen and Paul can help you get some food to cook in a nearby town. Also, Paul and I had some nice lunches in the Sauternes area. He is an entertaining host with a positive attitude. Very highly recommended. And reasonable prices for his services. He is helpful for people with any level of wine expertise, from neophyte to professional expert. I had an excellent time.

Fantastic time riding with Paul Krucker of Octopus. Visited some great Chateaux and restaurants throughout the Bordeaux area and the Sauternes. Paul is very knowledgeable and fun. Would definitely do it with him again.

Spent a wonderful two and a half days in the region of Bordeaux prior to a river cruise with Paul. Those days were the highlight of the entire trip! We toured the Medoc area, enjoyed tasting some outstanding wines there, sailed in Arcachon and climbed the higher sand dune in Europe, toured Sauternes and tried some excellent wines there, had great lunches and Dinners, all arranged by Paul. You couldn’t do better than arranging your trip with Octopus Wines!
