Born in Metz in 1857, Louis de Maud'huy was hounted atcthe age of 14 that the Germans defeated French in 1871 and waned to drive the Germans out.He joined the military and raised in rank to general up untill the First World War. beginning of the First World War. During the great war, General de Maud'huy was considered a great specialist in night attacks.He had the honor of being called Colonel Immortal of the 35th Infantry Regiment" as an honorary title in a regimental order of 1919.He appointed military governor of Metz at the end of the war and was then intransigent on the modalities of application of the Treaty of Versailles
