CineStudio Paris

I took a four week filmmaking course at CineStudio and I really enjoyed it! The course was intense and packed with technical and practical sessions and David, the founder and instructor, was very passionate and patient with our projects. We also had some cinema history and screenwriting classes with Jack and Aliocha which were very engaging. Great if you want to get some hands-on experience with filmmaking!

Save your money and time, I took the filmmaking 3 month course and it was the BIGGEST waste of money, classes are shallow and the students cant even use the equipment, id be much better off if i had bought myself a camera and learned it by myself, get yourself an internship or a starting job in film instead of attending this school. They only have good reviews because the teachers beg them to, speaking of which, they are quite unprepared and feel more like students then actual teachers

I had the pleasure of spending a semester at Cinestudio in the filmmaking group. It was a fabulous experience for me. I had never been involved in film before and David's teaching convinced me completely: thanks to his knowledge and energy, I am now thinking of going into this field! David is incredibly passionate about pushing his students to the limits of their skills and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We had a lot of theory classes that gave us the knowledge we needed to make three short films. We all worked very hard and the work paid off, I am still blown away by the quality of the films the students made. Also, being part of Cinestudio is being part of a small family, in three months I made friends for life. So, if you have a dream of working in the film industry but don't know how to start, choose Cinestudio! The quality of the teaching is unmatched, I feel like I learned in three months the equivalent of a bachelor's degree in film. I recommend this school without any doubt.Also, we had the immense luck to be invited as guests to an international short film festival in Cannes (Cannes Indie Shorts Awards), where we spent five days. Honestly I still can't believe it even happened. Twelve hours per day of watching incredible short films, following master classes and meeting tons of amazing and talented actors and directors. Without mentioning the unlimited buffet ;) we didn't have to pay a DIME for the whole experience so David, seriously, THANK YOU :).I'd like to add a note about the awesome other teachers : Aliocha as a screenwriting teacher was very inspiring, supportive and gave us great feedbacks. While Jack, the history of cinema teacher, is one my favorite human beings, so passionate and interesting, I couldn't miss any of his classes. Plus, David made sure to invite other speakers, who work professionally in the film industry and were able to give us new insights about their crafts. All in all, it's been such a rich, dense and life-changing experience. I'm so so so glad I joined the course.

The course was honestly amazing! I took a one month course and can honestly say that I’ve learnt a lot. All of the teachers and people I met were amazingly helpful and insightful. If you’re a beginner and would like to become a filmmaker or an actrice this is a great opportunity. It is far more cheaper than most film schools and it’s a different experience!

I joined the one year group , and it was truly amazing and inspirational . I learnt so many new things on the technical aspect and the creative aspect.We had many different teachers, David (owner of the school), taught us on the technical aspect , created different workshops for us to use different cameras, learn how to setup a gimble etc...we also had a variety of masterclass with people working in the industry of cinema ( producers , directors , etc)We also learnt the history of cinema with Jack, a Canadian teacher who showed us a variety of movies, shots , behind the screen anecdotes etc..Screen writing was also a subject that I loved and we had the abitlity to work and improve with Aliocha's techniques. He was a great teacher who taught a very specific way of writing a movie.I definitely recommend this course for all the new students, you will learn how to direct ( from the technical aspect to the creative aspect )Thanks so much for this amazing year David .

I took the summer course in 2022 and I had a wonderful time. I’m already a filmmaker and know a little about different aspects of film but this course helped me grow a lot and I learned a lot about the camera that I didn’t know before. I love that David goes into depth and talks about the importance of knowing the camera like the back of your hand. You also learn about editing and color grading which is super helpful. David is extremely passionate about filmmaking and you can see it through his teaching. I would recommend it for those who are new to filmmaking and those who already have some knowledge on filmmaking and want to brush up on some key factors that contribute to making a tasteful, creative film.

David is passionate and enthusiastic, he's flexible, and very dedicated to his students. He will always encourage you to try new things and give you advice on how to improve your career. Studio Luna Rossa is a great place to work, it's an artistic environment equipped with everything you need. In the one month course I had the chance to work with Louise Denyer, a great acting coach who made the workshop fun, useful, and extremely worthy.

Very good one month acting program. David is a very Film driven and passionate person, he has a lot of knowledge and will try to share with you as much as possible.It was a very enriching experience that allowed me to acquire great knowledge and resources for my Acting career.I highly recommend!

As a director, I joined this course to develop my understanding of the technical side of filmmaking and cinematography. I joined the course with little to no technical understanding of cinematography, and by the end of the just 3 months understood cameras and filmmaking in a way I didn't think I could. Led by David Owen, this course is extremely unique and focussed, in a way that is genuinely affordable and completely packed with integral information for filmmakers. If you're seeking a way to develop you knowledge of filmmaking, in the heart of Paris, then you should definitely do this course. It has helped me so much.

I participated in the 1-Month combined Acting and Filmmaking course. And wow, what an unforgettable experience. Not only due to the group I was with (which was a group of amazing people that the director of the course had hand-picked after some exchanges via mail or even phone calls), but also in great part because of the quality, structure and style of this 1-Month long course.The two teachers (Mr. Owen and Mr. Allard) are very nice people that are easy to get along with. More importantly though, they excel at what they teach. Very early on you'll be able to tell that these guys have studied this, worked in the business and moreover, are passionate about what they teach. Every class was filled with energy as well as a positive vibe and even 500 slides of technical camera stuff" became interesting. And that was in great part due to the teaching staff. I have rarely encountered such passionate and enthusiastic teaching staff and can only praise their work and dedication.On top of this
