Le Gymnase

After much consideration, i believe it's my responsibility to leave a review for this place. My girlfriend and i were there two weeks ago - the service was deplorable (not to mention the overpriced food, but my main gripe is with the service). Firstly we were 'aggressively' asked if we would be eating. Then, we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. I replied with 'still', assuming (apparently incorrectly) that this was referring to table water. When i saw the waiter about to open a new bottle of branded still water - i politely stopped him and explained that i meant 'table water'. He lost the plot over this - arguing with me, slamming our drinks and cuttlery down (we paid for a separate drink so i'm not sure what the fuss was about), complaining to his fellow waiter, etc (really dropped his bundle - despite the fact he never opened the bottle, so would have no trouble re-selling it. It seemed that he was annoyed that i caught on to what he was doing before he could charge me). Then he brought out and plonked down our order; two lasagnas - one vegetarian and one beef. He said 'I don't know which is which you have to cut them to find out'. We felt unwelcome and he carried on to his mate the whole time. We speak minimal French but could pick up more than enough to know what he was talking about. Seriously folks, there's so many wonderful places to eat in Paris (and places that surround this place), please don't let this place ruin your day as it did ours. I really didn't want to leave this review, it's just still bothering me... Cheers.

Si la note 0 existait je l'aurais bien mise !Tout dans l'attitude des serveurs est détestable ! Malpolis, sexistes, irrespectueux...On nous a délibérément ignorées... pas moyen de commander à manger, le serveur répond à nos signes de la main par des gestes irrespectueux et puis nous tourne le dos.Au moment de l'addition on cherche à nous arnaquer... à croire que mes mauvais commentaires leur fait plaisir !!

Je rejoins les avis précédents. Accueil des plus exécrables, nous nous sommes quasi fait insultés par les serveurs car nous ne comprenions pas la différence de prix entre la carte et l'addition. Consommations prises en Happy Hour et payées plein pot. Il serait bon que le personnel, des plus désagréables, songe à apprendre la politesse et l'amabilité. Établissement à fuir.

I went there with my family. Ordered food and asked for water for kids. We waited for 1 hour for our food and finally it arrived. Quantity was so less that we had to go to different place after wards.Worse part is when we ordered bill and it was manager who happened to be serving us charger 8 Euro for water which we never ordered. It was more expensive than my beer.When i asked the manager about the extra charges he said its for the water. I told him i never asked for this expensive water but i just asked for water. Every where we went and asked for water they brought us simple water and never had to pay. He argued that i did not specify tap water so he brought 8 Euro water which i never chose from menu.In spite of all my arguments he made me pay for water.I told him that he should specify that water is 8Euro or at least should asked what kind of water we want but he never listened.I strongly DO NOT recommend this restaurant where they take advantage of foreigners.

accueil catastrophique; on doit réclamer 3 fois un verre d’eau qui arrive tiède, réflexion du serveur je répète mot pour mot “ vous ne voulez pas mon slip non plus ?” vraiment ce type d’attitude m’échappe... bref nous n’irons plus.

Ça faisait longtemps que je n'y étais pas allé et la salle a un peu vieilli notamment les sièges. Sinon c'est toujours aussi agréable d'être aussi proche de la scène, on a vraiment l'impression de faire partie du spectacle. Je vous conseil d'y aller si le spectacle est court.

Deux pintes identiques commandées au même moment (car deux personnes veulent boire un verre ensemble) les deux facturées à des prix différents.Réponse du serveur : C'est normal c'est lié à l'horaire de commande"On fait remarquer que l'on a commandé notre bière en même temps mais pas de soucis : Juste no pourboire pour compenser...Réponse du serveur : inutile de parler à une femme....Bref LA manager s'est excusée

Petite déjeuner avec une très bonne variété. Chèr car les saveurs ne sont pas top, mais un service impeccable!

Je mets deux étoiles parce que les serveurs sont vraiment adorables et ils font de leur mieux ... par contre le chef doit être changé parce que le pavé de boeuf au goût de vinaigre et la sauce au poivre au goût de citron ça ne se fait pas donc pour boire un verre c'est super mais pas pour manger... en attendant bon courage aux serveurs.

Volé sur la note finale de 15 euros.Avec une addition pourtant déjà bien salé pour des bières en happy hour et une planche mixte bien triste facturée au prix exorbitant de 23 euros...Une plate excuse de la manager lorsque nous sommes revenus récupérer notre argent. Un serveur soit-disant tête en l'air" je cite.Comprenez: il n'est pas à son coup d'essai et je soupçonne le bar d'être de mèche.Une honte."

After ordering wine from the menu we were given, we were told it was a new menu and then didn’t have that wine, only far more expensive stuff from the drinks menu. Starters were mixed: onion soup was delicious but herring fillet ok. The beef bourguignon was awful: admittedly succulent chucks of beef but on a bed of pasta with no mushrooms, no onions, no other vegetables and no sauce. I’ve had better in an average restaurant in London. And to top it all, they gave us the wrong bill: 20€ higher than it should have been. Not impressed

Beer was good, but that’s the only good thing about this place. The service is unbelievable poor, very unfriendly staff.Location is quite okay but nothing special.

Beautiful interior and friendly staff but the portion is meager and food is mediocre.

Ambiente agradável e climatizado. Atendimento muito bom, mesmo não falando a língua local, os atendentes são muito atenciosos. Pratos muito gostosos sem sombra de dúvida é preparação muito rápida.O prato provado no local foi uma sopa de cebola. Não gosto muito de cebola, mas aquela sopa estava maravilhosa!

Petite salle à l'ambiance sympa, spectacles a petits budgets pour les spectateurs. Côté confort c'est léger : sièges vieillissants et peu d'espace pour les jambes entre 2 rangées de fauteuils. Non accessible PMR

The scores above aren't fairly reflective of the most important thing in a restaurant...the food.The restaurant was 'typical french brasserie'...as was the service. No complaints, just an observation.The food however, was fantastic. I ordered grilled salmon with a side of creamed leeks and rice. Simply delicious. The salmon was juicy and flavourful-and the leeks...I could have at every meal and be happy. Even the rice was very tasty (and I can happy do without rice).Prices were also very reasonable-which, for quality and quantity of the food..makes this meal a great bargain.
