Danzig Alley is the largest of the Commonwealth war cemeteries in nthe Mametz area. Although begun in 1916, most of the more than 2,000 burials here were bought in from the surrounding battlefield ans smaller cemeteries after the armistice. Situated on the main road to the east of Mametz, heading towards Montauban, today it is a beautiful and calm resting place for the men buried here.
