The way this company is treating applicants is SUCH A SHAME !On the phone the president is odious, arrogant and shows no respect at all for candidates.More importantly she is considering applicants based on physical and ethnical criteria. She spent more time commenting on her profile picture rather than assessing her skills for the job requirements. If you're looking for an internship I give you one advice : RUN AWAY !!!

Departures Magazine was spot on labeling Rachel (Events & Company) as the Fixer - To - Know in Paris!" We were able to have an private tour of the Louis Vuitton Foundation with our group. She was also able to get us into Versailles on day its closed! Very exclusive!"

After 3 years of not traveling it was an absolute joy to be back in Paris. As always, you organized fabulous exhibits for us to see which sparked our creative and intellectual interests. And you manage to provide a new place to explore! The Rosa Bonheur chateau was incredible.Thank you for the attention to detail. You remember our favorite restaurants, flea market and entertainment venues and guide us to experiences that are truly French and not so touristy. I think our 11 year history bears beautiful fruit. We are looking forward to returning next year and hope to spend 2 weeks. One week is not nearly enough time in this breathtaking city.Merci beaucoup!

We had two wonderful vacations to France with travel planning by Rachel Kaplan and Events and Company. In 2014, we had a New Year's holiday family week in Paris, one of my favorite ever vacations. We asked for a trip plan that was in part based on the movie, Midnight in Paris, and we visited practically every museum, shop, monument, hotel, landmark, and restaurant featured in the movie. She even arranged a night-time driving tour in an antique Rolls Royce.More recently, Rachel's company assisted us in planning our two-week, two-couples vacation in Basque Country, Normandy, and Paris last month. As we have come to expect from Rachel, the logistics were flawless, our guides were terrific, her hotel choices were to our liking, and she had excellent suggestions for dining and activities. Our favorite highlight was a private, champagne early evening boat ride on the Seine. (I had no idea that you could do this!) All in all, a fantastic vacation. Rachel and Events and Company get my highest recommendation.

Hiring Rachel Kaplan (owner of Events & Company) as a wedding planner was the biggest mistake I made in the whole wedding planning process. In my initial call with her, I questioned her low fee but she said that she had scaled it to the size of my event (which was very small, 14 people). She was not up front about the fact that she builds additional fees (30%) into vendor contracts. This was not stated in our contract with her, and she later defended it as “industry standard”.Rachel was extremely difficult to work with. Our Zoom calls were mainly her just talking in circles. She visited the Shangri-La and the Ritz venues, and even though I expressed that I wanted to have my wedding at the Ritz she aggressively tried to convince me to have it at the Shangri-La. When I sent some recommendations of photographers I liked, she sent a very threatening email saying that doing my own research was somehow a breach of contract, when I was just trying to show her what I liked. She recommended some photographers with bad portfolios, and I ended up choosing a photographer that had been on my list. She signed the contract directly with the photographer, then had me sign a photography contract on her letterhead with a higher amount, so she could keep the difference. She did not disclose this practice up-front, and was unwilling to show us any contract from the vendor. I began to feel very uncomfortable with the process because she was stressful to work with and I just wanted to understand how much we were actually paying her. I reached out to some friends who had recently worked with wedding planners and they all advised me that this situation was sketchy; in no way was it “industry standard.”When I asked Rachel about extra fees, she completely lost it. She sent another email threatening me about breaches of contract. My fiancé and I called her to try to have a conversation and understand the issue. She spent over 20 minutes yelling at us, without even pausing for us to say anything. She completely spiraled into anger about how low minimum wage is in the US and told us that our wedding wasn’t important because of the war in Ukraine. Luckily, we parted ways from Rachel following that outburst and ended up planning the most perfect wedding day on our own.If you are trying to plan a wedding in France, steer clear of Rachel Kaplan.**Edit to address Rachel's response: No, we were not looking to lower our budget. We simply wanted to know how much we were paying our wedding planner and she was unwilling to tell us.
