Pantin Apartments Paris Est

When visiting Paris for New Year's Eve of 2022, my friends and I were looking for a cheap apartment somewhat near the city centre and settled on this one.The location with a rather easy conncetion to the city centre using the bus and the Metro and the extre mely cheap price were the only positive things about our stay in this apartment. And, in addition to that, the owner being responsive and polite about our requests.But despite the positive facts, our stay did not go as planned as we stumbled across mice in the kitchen on our first evening and found the apartments to be in a pretty dirty condition, with the flood being sticky and hardware like the stove not being cleaned after the last use.

The only reason i gave it a 1 star is because of the owner, she was very responsive. The apartment was dirty and dingy. It smelt bad and there was not a single clean place in the house. Yes it is closer to Paris, thats all though. We spent 4 hours the day we reached to tidy the place up, but it still remained in need of a deep cleaning and felt very old, gloomy and drab. Also, the view from the house is a crematorium. Talk about morbid! Not worth the trouble as we spent 3 days there and we were always trying to ‘settle in’. We opted for this as the owner was very kind and responsive and we booked barely a week in advance for our trip, so there were very few options available nearby. The owner also mentioned a discount on her airbnb. Apart from cleanliness, the rooms are so small, you can barely open your travel bags. One of the room had a sofa bed, advertised as a double bed, it broke our backs considering we had been travelling for the entire day and had a return journey of about 9 hours in 3 days. The toilet is smaller than a tile, one can barely fit on it. We dint even sit in the hall, it just was so dirty. Yes it has a kitchen too, but one doesnt even feel like cooking in there. There was a gradient change when one walks through the house and it feels like on the verge of collapse. The other ‘amenities’ were barely present. The hot water shower only lasted until 2 people took a 10 min bath. So the rest of the 2 people had to take an ice cold water bath in the cold weather. The bathroom was also small, and you could barely fit in it. There was dust everywhere and the house made me and my family sick. Finally, the door and the entrance to the place barely exists. Overall, the experience made our trip pathetic. It took us 2 weeks to fully recover after all 4 of us fell sick. Would never ever go by airbnb reviews alone especially since there was nothing cozy about the place.
