Vom Strand aus kommend ist das Monument einem Bunker nachempfunden, bis man bei genauem Betrachten erkennt, dass das Mahnmal über einem alten Bunker errichtet wurde.Unten kann man noch Reste eines zerstörten Geschützes sehen. neben dem Monument findet man die bronzene Nachbildung zweier Soldaten, die über den Strand stürmen.Etwas weiter kann man die Überreste des künstlichen Nachschubhafens sehen.Oberhalb gibt es einige kostenfreie Parkplätze.

WN or Widerstandsnest 72 is part of the Atlantic Wall. Together with WN 71 and WN 73 it guarded the Dog-1 exit towards Vierville-sur-mer. They were built in 1943-44 . These three German Widerstandsneste are situated in the Dog Green sector which saw some of the heaviest fighting in the morning of june 6, 1944. WN72 was the most formidable of the three

Sehr sehenswertes Denkmal das an die Geschichte von damals erinnert. Parkmöglichkeiten vorhanden. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt.
