Sorprende la cantidad de fuentes de agua potable que hay en Clermont Ferrand. Son muy bellas y responden a una necesidad de aprovisionar de agua potable a la población. Llevan el nombre de fuentes Wallace en honor a Richard Wallace, el filántropo británico que financió su construcción. La primera fue colocada en París en 1872 y aún se siguen instalando. Una muy buena tradición.
