ELO Basel

This truly is a great place to learn or improve your German! I spent four months taking group classes with ELO and learnt so much during that time. The small group size (4-5 students) allows everyone to get plenty of time practising speaking in every class and the flexible teaching approach means that students are actively encouraged to suggest topics and specific areas of study that they are interested in learning about. The teachers are brilliant, as is the location and the premises of school itself. Together it makes for a super enjoyable learning experience!

Depuis quelques temps à Bâle, j'ai très tôt été obligé d'apprendre l'allemand pour pouvoir évoluer dans ma vie professionnelle. J'ai alors été conseillé par mes collègues de prendre des cours d'allemand auprès de ELO-Basel, choix que je ne regrette pas.En effet, depuis le début des cours d'allemand à ce jour, j'ai évolué de façon sûre et constante, ceci grâce à la qualité des enseignants que j'y ai rencontrés. Emmanuelle, Sophia et Alexander étaient très structurés et exigeants et avaient une grande capacité à motiver les élèves. La pertinence des thèmes et le juste équilibre entre conversation, lecture, jeux, exercices et grammaire ont beaucoup contribué à ce succès.Le format des cours proposé m'a aussi beaucoup plut. Inséré dans un groupe homogène de 3/4 personnes, chacun pouvait avoir un soutien individuel soigné, tout en ayant la possibilité de développer la conversation par l'échange entre collègues.J'ai aussi apprécié la flexibilité de l'école dans la gestion des horaires des cours et des périodes de vacances.Et tout cela en pratiquant des prix très corrects.Je fréquente toujours les cours d'ELO-Basel, où j'espère atteindre un niveau d'allemand élevé.

I have had such a great experience with ELO! Definitely my most positive experience of learning another language to date. The teaching methods really promote fluency and help you to quickly feel comfortable using the language. Classes are small, relaxed and most of all fun, and I love that there’s a really personal feel to the school. Emmanuelle (the founder) is super friendly and flexible. Ewa is such an excellent teacher, takes time to get to know you and really tailors the class to suit your needs. I’ve made more progress with my German than I thought was possible in such a short time. Highly recommended!

Ottima scuola di lingua. Gruppi piccoli che ti permettono di essere seguito quasi come un one-to-one e allo stesso tempo con costi più che accessibili.Emmanuelle, la fondatrice della scuola, mette sempre la massima disponibilità e attenzione per poter ascoltare le esigenze di ognuno.La varietà di corsi offerti: individuali, di gruppo, per bambini, madri con bambini sono sintomo di quanto cerchino di andare in contro le esigenze delle persone.Da quando ho frequentato questa scuola appena arrivata a Basel non ho mai smesso di consigliarla!!!

I started attending this school when I first moved to Basel to learn German as I had never studied before: I took classes from an A0 level all the way up to B2/C1 in 4 years. I must say I am really happy with my choice!!Emmanuelle, the boss, is very friendly and attentive to eerybody's needs and requests. I had a handful of teachers through all the years and classes and ALL of them were very good at teaching and keeping us interested.The school has several positive points that are worth noting:- small" classes: I have never been in a course with more than 4 other people and this

In my efforts to learn German, I have tried several schools in Basel...ELO has by far been the best. I have been fortunate to have private lessons with an excellent teacher. From the start, my teacher took time to learn how I best absorb the information. This has allowed the lessons to have a more personalized approach which has been far more fun and impactful. I am sure I will finally learn German thanks to this wonderful language school, I can highly recommend it.

ELO- Basel is a small but very impressive language school. The tutors are enthusiastic, driven and offer a versatile learning experience. For one of the lessons, for example, my tutor took a more practical approach of travelling with me across the French boarder and challenging me to practice the language in everyday tasks (such as ordering a coffee at a cafe, asking a shop assistant for assistance) The tutors will also gradually converse with you in the foreign language more and more as your ability increases. Overall, a very enjoyable and satisfying experience from ELO- Basel!

Emma is gifted teacher on the German language and the psychology of teaching. I found her small group and one-on-one teaching methods to be highly effective and helped me achieved my language goals. I have recommended her school to many others especially those who are trying to learn German as a second language

After trying out many schools (in different formats ranging from classroom to private), this has definitely been the best fit for me. I have been taking one-to-one lessons and have noticed a remarkable improvement in my confidence with speaking German. The instructor is knowledgeable about the inner workings of German (and can explain or give you tips to remember the grammar rules) and it's a very nice and professional atmosphere!

Excellent school. It has few key features which differentiate it from other schools:- teachers that really care about your progress and are very well prepared. In my experience we have not rigidly followed the structure of the book, but the teacher was bringing lots of extra materials and, as necessary, spent more time on topics where the group struggled. periodic checks of knowledge applied, motivating to learn also at home :)- flexibility of schedule: students and teachers jointly decide about the time and days of the lessons. no rigid structure as in other schools- small groups : in my experience 2-5 peopleI feel that I made lots of progress in just few months. I highly recommend this school!
