La Grande Maison d'Arthenay
Myself and my family had an excellent stay at Le Grande Maison Loire during July of 2022. The venue was exceptional. The hosts Micaela and Sue were both welcoming and knowledgeable and made this trip for my parents 60th incredibly special. I recommend this to anyone interested in a relaxing stay in a beautiful region of France. I have been recommending Le Grande Maison to friends and colleagues following our trip and hope to be able to return.

Fantastic hosts , superb location in the middle of vineyards,so peaceful and relaxing.The wine tour was great and so informative.Excellent meal on arrival, no doubt that we will be going back next year.

We absolutely loved this place and we were both annoyed that we didn't build a longer amount of time to explore the local area. The property is a beautiful classic French home, with cool interiors and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. It is surrounded by fantastic vineyards offering the opportunity to walk, cycle and truly explore the local area. What makes La Grand Maison even more special is the welcome you receive from the hosts. A magical place!

Charming property amidst beautiful vineyards. I was traveling with my wife and an 18month old infant and Micaela and Sue were more than hospitable and made us feel very much at home. We loved every minute spent there and wished we had time to stay longer.

We were traveling on a road trip through the Loire Valley and spent one night here doing a condensed version of the wine stay. It was an amazing experience.The property is tucked away in the vineyards with private wine caves, yet it’s very updated giving you the best of both worlds. We loved the attention to detail in the decorations and furnishings of the rooms. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.We enjoyed our wine dinner which was prepared with some ingredients from their own garden and wine from their cellar. Sue took us on a full day wine tour where we got to taste a variety of wines from 4 producers and see many steps of the process firsthand without any other tourists in a very persona way. We loved our wine tour package and would highly recommend it.

This old fortified farmhouse in the middle of vineyards is a fantastic, relaxing place to spend time. Hosts Sue and Micaela are friendly and a font of wine knowledge and local information, as well as producing excellent breakfasts. Tasty dinners complete with local wines are a joy to eat. The bedrooms have beautiful old stone walls, very comfortable beds and lovely furnishings. It is also possible to book a local vineyards tour with Sue. This was our third visit and we will be returning.

My wife and I have known Micaela and Sue for over 5 years. We have dined at their home although we have not lodged there. They run a superb chambre d'hote/bed and breakfast near our Loire village of Le Puy Notre Dame, and they have an excellent reputation in the community. They are wonderful chefs and hosts. They know wine of the region. You can count on them, and we would be always happy to speak with you about La Grande Maison.
