Gite La Belle Epoque

What a fabulous place, so much space. Went as part of a group of friends for a holiday to celebrate a milestone birthday, expected it to be crowded but it wasn't. The gite itself is huge, with really good sized rooms, the communal living area is very large, big dining table and a lounge area with comfy sofas. There are also two big patios too to sit in. We spent most of our time on the back one, beautiful views, and easier to keep an eye on the kids in and around the pool. We had all our meals out the back under the canopy, and spent most evenings chatting in the seating area. Idyllic.The gite set on a lot of land too, frisbee golf was popular and we even played rounders, but mainly the space just adds to the tranquilty of the place. The next plots along are just more fields. If like me you're from a town centre the sense of space is a revelation.Sat at the back staring out over the valley really never gets old.The kitchen is really well stocked with gadgets and crockery, never had to fight over the last clean plate. Super clean and modern en-suite for us, and two other couples, the rest had access to a palatial shared bathroom, as well as there being an extra loo downstairs.Fear not, for the tech addicted there is wifi, and there was also an XBox and Nintendo which kept the kids amused. Between that and the pool table and DVDs I suspect even on a wet Thursday you'd find something to do, but we were lucky weather wise and spent the days exploring. Lots to see locally within an hours drive.Dan and Katie who own the gite made us all welcome and helped us with recommendations of where to go locally. They had set up our room (and presumeably the others too) beautifully. I forgot to take photos before unpacking so forgive the mess, but I nipped round on leaving day after we'd packed our cars and the beds were stripped to give you some sense of the size.On the whole, an unexpected gem, highly recommended.

What a wonderful place. Full of wildlife, but near enough to some super interesting sights (Eymet aka “Little England”, Chateau du Bonaguil, Coulx Moulin and the river to name but a few). Dan and Katie also recommended some of the local food/market nights, and I’m happy to say there were options for veggies (yay!) as the chips are cooked in oil, and there are various cheeses and sweets to fill you up. Thanks for our time there, we loved it!

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at Gite La Belle Epoque in Coulx, south western France. As a large family (4 kids) we deliberately selected somewhere large enough to accommodate and the Gite did not disappoint. It is very well equipped, tastefully and clearly lovingly decorated and enjoys a superb location with beautiful views. The pool and decking area is lovely, particularly on a hot day and the kids really enjoyed playing in the grounds, picking ripe fruit from the apple and pear trees and turning them into delicious tarts which were perfect with some ice cream!Katie and Dan are very attentive hosts, who strike the right balance between supporting the enjoyment of our stay in France with helpful advice and guidance and allowing us the privacy to enjoy our holiday as a family. That was very much appreciated.We took advantage of some of the extras available, including some food and drink ready on our arrival along with a couple of days arranged for activities to keep the kids occupied (which mum and dad very much appreciated!). Mum also had the luxury of a spot of pampering with pedicure, manicure and a massage all kindly arranged by Katie to complement our stay.We sadly return to the real world now but I would be very happy to recommend Gite La Belle Epoque and I really do hope to return again soon

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour entre amis dans cet ancien séchoir à tabac, rénové avec goût. Le lieu est calme en pleine campagne lot-et-garonnaise. Et pour couronner le tout, les hôtes sont aux petits soins.Thanks for all Katie and Dan

An amazing week with our extended family at the Gite La Belle Epoque!As the photographs show, the property is large, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could need for a week or longer. There is an array of outdoor and indoor games to keep everyone entertained with the frisbee golf and boule court a highlight.The Gite is very private and peaceful with the nearest village being a 5 minute drive away. Given the rural nature of the property, a car is essential if looking to holiday here.The only direct neighbours are the owners of the Gite, who live next door, but this did not intrude on our stay and they only popped over on a couple of occasions to clean the pool.The pool is large and when we visited very warm. The pool area was easily able to accommodate our party of 12, and benefits from fantastic views across the rolling French countryside with small, splash pool for young children. The pool area is secured by a fence and gate so child access can be safely controlled.

You really couldn't ask for more. Fantastic facilities and hosts. Lots to do for kids and adults alike.

Beautiful Gite. Very well equipped, perfect holiday home for 14 people. Spacious and comfortable. Stunning swimming pool with comfortable furniture and swim up pool bar. Great facilties for children. The owners are on hand for support but very much hands off too. Peacefull serenity for the perfect getaway. Lots to see and do in the area. Vineyards, chateaux, horse riding, paddle boarding. Loved our stay.
