Great Mexican food !!!

Super endroit aux antipodes du Tex Mex habituel ! Cocktails et bières purement mexicains. Mescal et Tequila rares et explosives. De quoi se restaurer cuisine mexicaine faite maison , donc cuisine goûteuse et originale. Service et accueil chaleureux. Pas d'hésitation El Gringo, vamos à la Mexcaleria ! La @musique est dans le ton. Salud !

I recently visited Oaxaca and Mexico City to taste their amazing food and visit the places they make Mezcal. As there's no real Mezcaleria in Amsterdam (where I live), I was very happy to see one in Paris. I came there early on a Saturday, to make sure to have a table for 2, as they do no reservations (so I was told). I ordered some entradas and a beer. WHile I was waiting for the little snack to come, I decided that I also needed to taste some Mezcal. The bartender presented me some bottles, but couldn't specify any of the types of agave it was made from. The food still hadn't come after 30 minutes and I assumed it was due to the kitchen opening only at 7 pm. In the mean time the bartender was replaced by someone who I think is co-owner. He changed the music from hits to Mexican, whcih seemed a smart move. He kept adjusting the music with his ipod for the next 15 minutes and didnt notice I had switched from a table to the bar and took no troule in taking away the empty glasses already there, nor in helping me with another drink. Another owner came in and the 2 kept talking for the next 15 minutes with a girl who came in to show her earrings. The last guy coming in welcomed new guests, with his coat still on, while the other owner was making really horrible cocktails with a blender (a whole lime in a blender, skin and all!). The food finally arrived after I explained that I had ordered it a while ago with his collegue. He first verified in the kitchen if I really hadn't had any (the kitchen never seemed to have gotten the order) and he went on with his music which hadn't been playing for a good 15 minutes. After about 2 minutes he appoached me again and asked if I still wanted the entradas. After I got them I ordered some tacos and quesedillas which were ok at best. This restaurant is a farcry from any real Mezcaleria and the hospitality is so bad, even for Paris' standards. I was kinda puzzled, as I really wanted this to be a good experience but wow, I will never come here again.

Encore une fois une lieu mexicain" où l'on se sent pas au Mexique. Comme si vous alliez dans un restau français quelque part dans le monde et vous trouviez une ambiance purement marseillaise

Un petit coin de Mexique a Paris. L´ambiance, la musique, la nourriture et la tequila comme la-bas. Un staff super sympa... Je le recommande fortement.

Le top du mexicain à Paris Bonne bouffe pas compliquée et Boisson poufffff indescriptible tellement c'est bon. Sans parler d'Ivan le patron la class

Great bar with very nice Mezcal cocktails. Ivan, the bartender is charming and the service excellent.My two favorite cocktails, Mezcal Tonic and Don Aji.The food is also very good, a bit pricy but very good.
