Amazing place and view of Salzburg panorama. I recommend funicular ride to the fortress. Also, there are museums inside of fortress. All in all superb.

We used the funicular to get up as it was a very hot day. Great views over the city and an interesting walk around the fortress. We ate at the panorama restaurant at the top of the funicular and the food was delicious. It suddenly became very, very windy just as we sat down to eat which of course, stopped not long after we finished our food!We had the Salzburg card so admission was free.

This is a must visit attraction!!! You can either hike up or take the train. I hiked it and it was about 15 minutes from the city centre. The views are phenomenal and you’ll learn a lot about the history of Salzburg. The fortress itself is worth the visit as well!

Must visit in Salzburg. The funicular was short but still fun. The view from the fortress is marvelous and it gives you a good perspective of the city of Salzburg. The place also has a museum, view tower and some restaurants. Overall it was a fun EXPERIENCE and educational.

Buy tickets online. Also the inclusive ticket with funicular ride is only 3 euro more. The view points were very impressive. Take some time to read the stories. Recommended.

A must if you travel to the city. The entrance was 10eu and you have many places to visit and read the history of the city and area. The views are incredible. You alao have a nice bar to have some drinks and food with a fantastic view. I recommend to visit this place and enjoy every corner of it. You can walk up the hill its not that bad or you pay to go by rail.

Went during December. Walked up and then took the funicular back down. Beautiful views of the city of salzburg and the alps in the background. Loved walking through the castle and up the towers to the lookout points. Went fairly early in the morning but it was still quite busy. Didn’t take long to get down the funicular though.

The castle is very pretty, panoramic views are highlights of the tour. The history of Salzburg described well with the model demonstrations. Funicular tickets to be purchased at the start, which serves the round trip. Best to visit during morning time as the number of visitors are less, can spend around an hour or 2 exploring castle.

This castle is amazing and so large!On a rainy day, it is still a great option as an ax activity for the day. There are so many museums inside. I would also highly recommend walking the Panorama Tour at the top for a beautiful view of Salzburg. Paying for the Basic ticket to take the funicular to the top, walk the panorama tour, was highly worth it even on a rainy day!
