At long last! I got a chance to taste some braised chicken that is actually tender and juicy and not rubbery. This is probably the only good braised chicken in the area.I had a half chicken, some flavored rice and a chicken roll. The chicken roll was delicious. Flavourful tender meat stuffed in a tortilla along with some lettuce and tomatoes, it seems like a simple chicken roll on paper but when you bite into it, you can feel the difference.The braised chicken was marinated using some traditional Pakistani spices. I am a fan of Indian and Pakistani food, so in my opinion, this marinee is easily superior to what you'd find in your regular braised chicken store. Most of the braised chicken places that you find so abundantly in this area don't know how to cook their chicken, frankly speaking. It's rubbery, has a foul aftertaste and is unappetizing overall. The chicken from this place however actually tastes like chicken. It's tender, juicy and well cooked. The combination of the spice rich marinee and the well cooked chicken makes it a go to place for Braised Chicken lovers.Coming to the rice. I was honestly surprised to find rice cooked using traditional whole spices. It tasted home made and natural because of this. By natural, I mean not cooked using store bought sauces that seems to be the trend in most places in this city. How do I know you ask? Because I could see the black cardamom, whole peppercorns and other spices whose names I don't remember (but taste I remember coz that's what we use at home). Although I don't exactly know what it's called, it feels very similar to Khuska, mandi or biryani rice. It shows that they are dedicated to serving fresh, tasty and authentic food.
