Great to arrive early for the 0645 sailing. First in the queue. UK Border force very helpful and polite. Saw some of the dogs working away checking lorries. Basic food available through vending machines. Toilets were relatively clean.

Great ferry port. Very easy to use. Ferries at least every hour 24hrs a day except Christmas.

Calais ist leider eine typische Küstenstadt - neben unzähligen Restaurants ist sie vorallem sehr dreckig und ungepflegt. Wer mit der Fähre nach Dover will, bis Calais eine weite Anreise hat und darüber nachdenkt, eine Weile hier zu verbringen, sollte dieses Vorhaben lieber sein lassen. Zum Abendessen gibt es eine große Auswahl, aber mehr hat die Stadt nicht zu bieten und wir waren froh, als wir am Folgetag in die Fähre steigen konnten.

Calais city gained its recognition due to the Port. The city is small and has its few landmarks like the Theatre churches and cathedral. Last month there was a British week and the double decker buses and telephone booth adorned the area.Theatre area has the mall - Centro commercial and lots of restaurants. Must try them ..typical French food and hospitality. The Rue Royal has banks and hotels with the tourist office.

Étant chauffeur routier, et comme tout les chauffeur ont déteste passer par la ! endroit obligatoire pour aller en Angleterre ! Sinon rien d'agréables ! Que des désagrément ! Personel froid et désagréable !

Il porto di Calais è il più grande terminal passeggeri di Francia ; si trova a nord della città , è raggiungibile dal centro in circa 15 minuti ed è collegato alla rete autostradale A 16 e A 26 ; la rotta Calais - Dover è gestita da 2 compagnie di traghetti e il servizio è veramente buono ; la traversata dura circa 1 ora e 30 minuti ; purtroppo si perde molto tempo per i controlli doganali .

Die Überfahrt nach Dover mit der Fähre ist für mich ein muß. Der Anblick der Kreidefelsen immer wieder schön.

Eine Fährüberfahrt ist schon etwas besonderes und wenn dabei noch die weißen Klippen von Dover zu sehen sind.....
