Me and a friend climbed to Les Portes d'Oche in the hope of swimming in the Lake pictured. The Lake however was much further (about another hour round trip) than described and as such we didn't go down to it.Climb other than that was very fun with fantastic views. Was reasonably tough for an inexperienced hiker like me.

Set out for a casual lake walk only to find that this was practically the Dent d'Oche walk in disguise. That's not a bad thing though...The walk was lovely and very intense in terms of how steep it was right from the off. A very enjoyable walk through the mountain woods followed by an open area in the farmlands of the local chalet found high up. Signposts for the Chalet from the off guide you to more signposts where you can deviate to the lake at Les Portes d'Oche or the actual Dent d'Oche and an array of other areas.I only rate 4* due to the lake pictured not being as far as stated by the signs. With more will power and water at hand, this would've been achievable. The path on the first image is way longer than it looks on there. This is what takes you down to the lake.
