Église Saint-Aignan

Eglise consacrée en 1862 par Mgr WicartElle remplace l’ancienne église dédiée à Saint AignanL’originalité de cette dernière était d’avoir conservé sa nef romane.On y a inauguré en 1760 le calvaire comprenant des statues de la Vierge et de Saint Jean

This is a beautiful church, which is obviously loved by the villagers. I found the statuary very moving, especially the tableau of Mary and the saints grieving Jesus, removed from the cross. The Calvary too, touchingly rather than irreverently decorated with a deer and sleigh and fairy lights. There is a special spirit about this village that I loved. I also loved the care and trouble that had been put into the charming Christmas decorations. I feel a deep sense of community here, and of love for the Saviour.
