We had rented our car, at the TGV train station unknowingly far from our hotel, which would have cost a lot in taxi expenses just to pick up and return car. The Europcar in the central Aix-en-Provenc agency was exceptionally helpful in getting our rental transferred closer to our hotel. Thank you!

Attention à l'ARNAQUE, j'ai fait une réservation par internet en précisant que je voulais une voiture manuelle. En arrivant sur place, après 5h de train et 2 enfants en bas âge surexcités, la personne de l'accueil nous informe qu'elle nous a préparé une voiture automatique et nous demande si nous avions l'habitude avec des automatiques. Nous avons précisé que nous n'en avions jamais conduit, elle nous dit donc que ce n'est pas grave, qu'elle ne nous laisse pas d'automatique et qu'elle nous met une manuelle sans plus d'explication. Elle prépare le contrat et nous demande de signer là, là et là. Les enfants n'étant toujours pas plus sage, je fais confiance et je signe là, là et là. Et nous partons récupérer notre voiture, qui était un peu plus grande que ce que nous avions demandé mais comme nous n'avons en aucun cas précisé que nous voulions être surclassé, nous n'avons pas prêté attention.Seulement une fois revenus chez nous, nous recevons la facture avec un surplus de 160 euros environ. J'ai contacté le service client qui me dit gentillement" que j'ai signé le contrat et qu'il faut faire attention avant de signer

Great location and the sole contact person was very competent, courteous and spoke excellent English. The car, a VW T-Cross was easy to drive. Pick up was a bit slow since there was only one person manning the shop. The GPS in the car was not too helpful. It would be better to bring a cable with USB C on both ends to connect to one’s own GPS. Overall, the experience was great, and I will rent from Europcar again when in this area.

We came to the car rental in the morning and the car we ordered was not available. They gave us another car that “supposed” to be good to our needs even she isn’t in the same size of the car we ordered. It was disastrous so we came back to change to car that’ll be good for us. They offered us this car in the morning for the same price but when we came back they offered us an higher price even the car was faceted. The service was terrible and the car was disuster.

Rented a car for a 2.5 hour drive through the country. When I got there the woman asked if I wanted to pay a few euros extra (22 is a few apparently) for an upgrade from a Peugeot to an SUV because there was water on the road and rain in the forecast, and the SUV was higher off the ground. I assumed she was concerned for my safety but in the rain the only thing that might help is a better drivetrain since a bigger car is harder to stop. She said it had the same drivetrain and I kind of realized out loud that she was concerned the car would break in the rain. I said I didn’t want to take a less safe car just because it was less likely to get water in the intake, especially since I had the highest insurance with a $0 deductible. I guess it touched a nerve that I saw straight through her attempt to manipulate me into paying extra to put my life in danger and protect her asset because all of a sudden she realized I couldn’t have the highest insurance because I’m a young driver (25 is considered young in Europe) and then (presumably) pretended to talk to someone on the phone to confirm this. She downgraded my insurance and then had the nerve to (presumably) pretend she couldn’t refund the difference. I don’t recommend Europcar if you have a better option.

Equipe dynamique et professionnelle ! malgré le 1er jour de confinement ils m'ont trouvé la solution pour le retour de la voiture . très bon conseils aussi sur la formule de location adaptée pour moi ( dans l'urgence avec beaucoup de kilometres et plus de 12 jours ) Je recommande vivement .

Attention ARNAQUE. La chargée de clientèle m'a ajouter une prestation à mon contrat que j'avais explicitement refusée. Résultat 70 € d'essence en plus alors que j'ai rendu la voiture avec le plein.

I rented a car last minute without a booking. The sales approach was a bit sneaky, asking me to put my card in before I had even seen the contract. I made sure I saw it first.The deal seemingly came with everything, full insurance, navigation system, prepaid fuel. I wanted an automatic car and got it.Once I was finally ready to drive off, after dealing with my prebooked rental at nearby SixT who didn’t accept my driving licence in the end, it was Europcar’s lunch break. I realised there was no GPS, and not even Apple CarPlay, and nowhere to neatly hook up my phone to use. I couldn’t go back on their office because they had stopped for an hour. This was very annoying as I needed navigation and had paid for it! I had to go to a shop and buy a phone holder before starting my journey.Later that afternoon I called to say that the GPS was missing. They agreed to reimburse this amount, around 20 eur per day, at the end and made a note. It seemed a bit aggressive to sell this perk without even checking if the car had it.On my final day due to the strikes my TGV train journey was delayed. I called to ask if I could return the car 5 hours late. They said this would be done for free, so I was pleased to hear it.On return the same agent who I spoke to each time tried to say that the car had at least CarPlay. This is a nonsense argument, as that doesn’t count as a navigation system! She was trying to refuse the refund. Then we went to the car and proved that even CarPlay does not exist.Then she tried to argue that she can’t refund both the navigation and the extra hours, so in the end I was billed for a full extra day instead. This was just not transparent and a poor management of expectations. I basically got ripped off at the point where I was powerless to do anything.In the end I paid a lot for a battered automatic car with over 50k mileage and loads of scratches that I rented off peak, with no navigation system for €100 a day including fuel and full insurance. It was not a particularly good deal and their behaviour was quite spivvy.
