Château Mas de Pradié

Awesome place !

We loved it so much the first time we have been back. The rural location surrounded by medieval villages in every direction did not disappoint. We wanted authentic french charm, Julia has kept that feeling in her restoration but added modern bathrooms for comfort. So we did not have to take a car, we booked the add on of an afternoon train station pickup ( 50 euro ) in Villefranche - de - Rouergue with a grocery stop and had everything we needed for our stay in the self contained cottage.A week in the private cottage was so romantic and relaxing. We also added in the village market excursion and a castle tour (200 euro for both of us).

My expectations were high but I was horribly disappointed. The pictures looked amazing but realistically the manor was not ready for guests. The heating was broken or hardly operated. The hostess was apologetic but didn’t compensate for the inadequacies. These old buildings need much work to bring them up to standards. This home is a work in progress. Not ready for guests. Breakfast was average. Disappointed.

Magic place!

We gathered as a large family group (14) to celebrate my parents 60th Wedding Anniversay. We took all of the rooms which allowed us to experience every aspect of Chateau Mas de Pradié. What a wow experience! Julia and Melissa were the perfect hostesses and our new friends, helpful and kind above and beyond expectations. The Chateau was old and authentic but felt so comfortable and homely. The modern swimming pool is great for the hot days :-). I look forward to returning soon.
