My husband thoughtfully routed our journey to the black forest closeby to the sweet fairy which I had wanted to visit since seeing their work at a fairy festival in the UK last year. so I was really looking forward to visiting after an overnight stop at Arras. We checked for opening hours before setting out with our two children in tow, only to find they would not be open until 14:00 so we visited a museum that said they were open all day.... they were closed! We made the best of it and visited the source of the river somme before heading to the sweet fairy. Disappointingly, after wasting the whole day, there was no one there and not open at all. Rang both bells and no one in.. moral of the story, don't believe any opening hours in France, phone ahead first.
