Hôtel Fougère

Serious safety risk!There is a lot to love about this hotel, however there is a serious safety issue with the room lock and key setup that needs to be addressed.I'll start with the positives. The sound insulation in the room was amazing, once the door and windows were closed you couldn't hear a thing outside of the room, so it was very peaceful. I thought the decorations in the room and throughout the hotel were lovely. Cleanliness and service were good.Now the negative. The room key is a standard metal house key that must be left with the front desk when you leave. My husband and I were given one key to share between us. It was a little inconvenient having to stop at the front desk every time on the way in and out, but not really a big deal. The main problem is that once you are in your room the only way to lock the door is with the key. There is no bolt to turn or safety chain; you have to lock it the same way you would lock a door from the outside. That means that if there were a fire or other emergency you would first have to find your key to be able to unlock your room and escape! I have no idea how this passed any kind of fire inspection. This setup also means that it is possible to lock someone in the room. One morning my husband wanted to go out early and I wanted to sleep in, but I had to get up and lock the door after him. If he would have taken the key to lockup on his way out then I would have been locked in the room.If the hotel were to update to a more modern lock system then I would not hesitate to stay here again. As it stands, however, I will be staying elsewhere on my next trip to Paris.

Our daughter had recommended this hotel on her last stay in Paris. She absolutely loved it. And now I can see why. Beautiful. Clean. Modern. Spot-on location in the 6th. And everything done with taste and love. Speaking of love, we couldn't wait to come down for breakfast each morning. White tablecloths. Soft music in the background, sometimes Billie Holiday, sometimes classical. And the best bakery basket, with the best croissant and pain au raisin ever. Not to be outdone, our suite upstairs was spacious and simply delightful. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Beautiful hotel, great service, great location. The rooms are slightly small but this is something typical of Paris. Highly recommended.

I recently stayed at Hotel Fougère in Saint Germain, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of disappointing. This review serves as a warning to others considering this hotel for their stay.During my multiple stays at this hotel, I experienced theft on both occasions. It is incredibly disheartening to have personal items stolen from your room, and it's even worse when the hotel shows no concern or willingness to assist. On my last visit, a valuable Moncler jacket mysteriously vanished from my room. When I reported the incident to the hotel staff, their response was shockingly callous, stating, we are not responsible for your items." This lack of accountability and empathy is unacceptable and deeply unsatisfying.Adding insult to injury

I did not like the suite on the 6th floor. It was not comfortable to be under the roof, and the lounge chairs are not comfortable either - a poor use of space. I prefer the suite on the 5th floor.The towels are old, scratchy, and need to be replaced. Both of my bathrobes had broken loops on one side.Thank you, Wendy

We recently stayed at Hôtel Fougère in Paris and I must say that it was an amazing experience. The staff were extremely friendly, hospitable, and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and memorable.I really appreciated the fact that one of the hotel maids discovered the headphones that we had forgotten in our room and returned them to me before I checked out.I would highly recommend Hôtel Fougère to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in Paris.

What a cute hotel. It was quaint. The rooms were nice and clean. The shower had great water pressure. The front desk staff was always attentive. If you must stay in Paris stay at Hotel Fougere.

We loved our stay at Hotel Fougere, a small boutique hotel that oozes charm. It has been refurbished beautifully. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms are full of character and the beds are comfortable. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful and the Parisian breakfast was delicious. It is located perfectly, close to all the action, metro, shops and great restaurants! I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

This little boutique hotel was an amazing stay for us! The staff - specifically Camilla - was so friendly and attentive. We stayed in the Superior Room, and it was a perfect size. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous, and the breakfast was delicious. You are very close to stores, restaurants/cafes, and the Metro to get around as well as very walkable to big name tourist sites.The one thing to be aware of is the taxes that will be charged post visit, but that would be our only compliant"."
