J'ai accueilli les étudiants de l'école Clé pendant plusieurs années Cela a été une expérience formidable. Les étudiants étaient ravis par l'enseignement dispensé par l'école qui a pour objectif de les faire progresser tout en les initiant à la culture française, le tout, dans des locaux exceptionnels. Les étudiants font des progrès extraordinaires et sont très bien pris en charge par les enseignants. Isabelle, la directrice, adore son métier et prend soin d'accueillir les étudiants avec professionnalisme et convivialité.

I cannot say enough good things about CLÉ. This is the perfect French school. I spent four weeks at CLÉ this summer, with Anila as my B1 class teacher in the mornings and Anne-Sophie as my private instructor in the afternoons. If you are serious about learning the language, this is the right place to go. Because all of the students are adults, they all want to be there and want to work hard together to improve their French. They're also just such an interesting mix of people from all over the world. The teachers are the best: excellent instructors, but also just so kind. And Céline, who runs everything, is phenomenal. She's built a school that is really a home, a world, and you get to enter into it and settle in and just relax into living your life in French there. There's a great mix of activities in the classroom, with grammar and reading and listening and conversation all balanced. The cultural workshops are delightful (Anne-Sophie's are the best: on wine, on bread, on French etiquette, etc.). There were plenty of field trips with Céline for those who wanted to take advantage: two cool dinners, a winery, drinks at the guinguette, a royal town, canoeing under a chateau, etc. And Tours is just such a wonderful little city, the perfect size for you to become a regular in a few places and be able to speak French with the barbers / bartenders / priests whoever. All in all, I can't recommend CLÉ highly enough. I ultimately decided to do four weeks in Tours and then four weeks in Paris at another highly reviewed school. Of course Paris is paradise, but honestly now I regret not just doing all eight weeks at CLÉ. If you have the opportunity, by all means take it.

This was my first visit to CLE and it was the best four weeks I have spent on “vacation” in years. I learned so much French and understand French so much better. It was truly a life changing experience! The instructors were excellent professionals in their classrooms and they were fun as well as funny. A lot of laughing came along with my learning. The location of CLE is a big plus also, in center of historic center of Tours. The faculty and the director planned numerous weekend and weekly restaurant outings for us. There was never a dull moment ! Between my classes, private tutoring and my home stay host I was totally immersed in the French language and culture which is exactly what I was looking for. Je viens de finir des cours par Internet et Zoom avec une excellente animatrice (merci Gaëlle) et je recommande hautement CLE Tours pour les étudiants qui cherchent à perfectionner leur français oral-écrit!

J'interviens comme formatrice à CLÉ à certains moments de l'année et je recommande vivement cette école idéalement située à Tours. Céline est une directrice formidable qui est toujours là pour les étudiants, toute l'équipe des profs est ultra-compétente et bienveillante ! Toutes les conditions sont réunies pour que les étudiants réalisent des progrès rapides, fassent de belles rencontres et passent des moments inoubliables.

Expérience exceptionnelle dans une belle ville calme avec une belle promenade dans le centre et juste sur la Loire. L'école est de grande classe, personnelle et bien organisée.

If you’re looking to improve your French, I would highly recommend this school. After doing study abroad in Montpellier and taking many French classes at the university level in the U.S., nothing compares to the quality of education, level of instructors, and investment in students that I found at CLE.Classes at CLE (pronounced like clay" with a French accent) run on a weekly schedule with new students joining every Monday. My class had four students for my first two weeks and then two more joined in my third week. My instructor was Louise and she was freakin’ fantastic. Her lessons were always fun and varied. Plus she seemed to really care about her students and their individual progress. We had class from 9:00 to ~12:45 each morning with a 15 minute break somewhere in the middle. Two days per week we would have afternoon “workshops” which were led by a different instructor and usually really fun/interesting. Most of the classes seemed to be comprised of between 2 and 7 students with about ~20 students at the school in total and ~7 instructors. Being 23 years old
