Alamo Rent A Car

Absolutely terrible service. Arrived at the office at Bergerac airport to find a long queue. All customers in front of me were either turned away because their Virgin cards weren't acceptable (despite being used for deposits), one family's car wasn't available, another customer was asked to come back on Tuesday (this was Saturday). Speedy online check in beforehand made no difference. Managed to get a car in a lower category than we'd reserved and was promised a refund of the difference on 27th May. Still awaiting the refund despite Alamo taking a payment due from my card since we returned home and advising me they were processing the refund. Emails have a 21 day response time. Have logged a complaint and uk team now having to get involved. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Fantastic help from Ninon at Bergerac airport to be noted please. Otherwise our car was a bit past its best at the end of the summer and we had a broken satnav, windscreen wipers needed repair and new blades and driver's sun visor had fallen off. As we were unlucky to have quite a lot of rain, the wipers were the biggest problem but sun in the eyes for 1.5 hours on return to Toulouse airport was not enjoyable .

Despite accepting my Revolut credit card for booking, the staff refused it for the deposit. The manager explained they don't take cards from Neobanks but couldn't reference this rule in the official rental agreement booklet or the voucher I received. Both only state the need for a credit card under the main driver's name. This specification was only mentioned in an office printout (see image). Moreover, the main office, of my booking agent was unaware of such a rule and couldn't get a response from the branch when called. Another couple encountered the same issue. I've never faced this with other rental companies. Be cautious!Bien qu'ils aient accepté ma carte de crédit Revolut pour la réservation, le personnel l'a refusée pour la caution. Le gérant n'a pas pu me montrer cette règle dans le contrat de location officiel ou le bon que j'ai reçu. Les deux indiquent simplement la nécessité d'une carte de crédit au nom du conducteur principal. Cette spécification n'était mentionnée que sur un document imprimé au bureau (voir ci-dessous). De plus, le siège, ignorant une telle règle, n'a pas pu obtenir de réponse de la succursale lorsqu'il a appelé. Un autre couple a rencontré le même problème. Je n'ai jamais eu ce souci avec d'autres compagnies de location. Soyez prudent!

Such a great experience with the team at Alamo yesterday. They were extremely kind and helpful as we had got our booking dates mixed up and even gave our daughter a glass of water and a toy to play with while they sorted it all out. Thank you!

Couldn’t pick up the car because they don’t allow Credit Cards from Neobanks. I do think this was a communication issue but the manager couldn’t show this policy anywhere formal and was very rude, taking the phone off the hook when booking tried to contact him to resolve the situation. Very disappointing.

Extremely helpful, friendly and very efficient group of people. Our flight arrived well after their closing time. Yet there was no rush. The young man that sorted out booking (sorry don't remember his name - 8th July - 6.49pm ) certainly knew his job well. Went over everything in detail. We were asked if we would like an automatic so was shown a Renault Megane. It was well presented, clean and tidy. A very nice car and wonderful to drive. On our return (22nd July) we were met by Luka. Again a really nice person. Very helpful, friendly, smiles and again very efficient.This is why you return to this airport and Alamo. Great service with a smile. Thank you.

Fantastic service from Alamo. Rented car for 1 week to visit family. Car in perfect condition and staff were extremely helpful and polite. I returned the car and closed contract with Corentin. I will definitely use Alamo on my return visit.

Service rapide et personnel accueillant

Our rental car tyre burst. Alamo arranged to take the car away and have left us (a family with 3 small children) stranded. None of the emergency assistance people have been helpful. Nobody keen to help.We feel totally abandoned.
