Hermitage Saint Roch

Wonderful, serene place with a great view and lovely hosts. Only got to stay one night, but wanted to stay forever. Thank you making us feel very welcome and thank you chef for the great meal and wines. Hope to see you again in the near future.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce lieu absolument fabuleux et tout y était parfait. L'accueil, la chambre (spacieuse, décorée avec goût, d'une propreté irréprochable) et le repas (préparé avec soin et maîtrise par le propriétaire).Ce fut une expérience hors du temps et un moment de partage comme on en vit peu dans une vie.

What an amazing find! Such a warm welcome from the owner, much appreciated after a long day on the road. We opted for dinner which was perfect, home cooked food served by the owner at a large banquetting where we joined the other guests. Breakfast was also very pleasant. Our room was spacious and comfortable with modern facilities. Our dogs were also made very welcome.

A perfect stay in every way. A convenient stop-over but stay a bit longer, as we did, and discover a haven for walking and wildlife in France’s newest National Park. Perfectly restored historic building, lovely spacious comfortable room, great home-cooked food and informative and attentive hosts. Nothing was too much trouble…

Absolutely loved this place! The host was fantastic, really welcoming and sweet. The grounds were stunning in the thick of tbe forest, with a great view. Rooms are clean and spacious. Only watch out is that you need a car for local amenities. Would recommend, particularly as a stopover if driving through France (we'll always stop here when we do, and other guests we spoke to were the same).

We stayed for one night on 2nd June en route to Tuscany, Italy. We were made very welcome by Jean-Louis and his wife who were amazing hosts. Our rooms were delightful and dinner and breakfast the following day were exceptional. Fantastic!!!

What a genuinely lovely place this is to stay at. It's our second time and we will definitely be returning again. We had the same room each time at the top of this ancient and beautifully restored Hermitage. Really large, more like a suite and really comfortable and beautifully furnished. Lots of really nice touches like good quality teas, biscuits and chocolates. Immaculately clean and incredibly cosy and quiet. The location is really rural at the top of the hill just outside the village centreThe whole building is stunning and if you choose to eat it's in the main family dining room with an ancient stone fireplace and huge dresser.Both dinner and breakfast were gorgeous. Proper long-cooked boeuf bourguignon and a starter of home made feuillete with chaorce cheese and salad.Breakfast excellent with three different home made jams (including delicious green tomato!) and home produced honey. Great teas and coffee and a super omelette.Really great value for money and absolutely charming hosts. Very dog friendly too.Very highly recommended.

We were warmly welcomed by our host, Jean Louis, who was an absolute star. He was professional, yet friendly, warm and funny - nothing was too much trouble.The Hermitage is a stunning building with so much character and history! The bedrooms were well appointed and we all had a good night's sleep.The dining room was quite unique and breakfast was sparkling. Highly recommended!
