Hôtel de France Invalides

Be warned, the photos provided on sites like booking.com & wotif are not reflective of the actual rooms. Also note the “soundproof” rooms are not remotely soundproofed. We were woken every time a guest opened a door on out floor (which occurred surprisingly often between 1-3am).Also worthy of mentioning is that the hotel has no restaurant but they do have a totally empty bar - no drinks at all. In fact, not even ice. However, as the hotel ice machine was broken i was invited to buy my own ice and the hotel would kindly store it for me in their freezer (heres a thought; seeing as you dont have fridges in the rooms, and your ice machine is broken, how about buying ice yourself so you have it on hand for your guests???)The bed in our room was like sleeping in a small double hammock as it sagged so much in the middle. Pillows were lumpy and very thin. Aircon worked but sounded like a refrigerated truck was parked outside the window when in use. Ensuite was small but workable with a good rain shower. Location is central. Staff were polite but not overly helpful.I’d seek other hotels in inner arrondisments before i chose this hotel again.

Front desk was one of the worst I’ve met. One of the staff who is a woman and was working around noon was incredibly rude and unhelpful towards us. Do not trust the times given. We were told we could check in starting at 2 o’clock but when we arrived the staff said not a single room was available and they had no time frame for when the room would be cleaned. If there is a check in time, it would be assumed that rooms would be readily available starting from that time.Every room we saw online was different so we were prepared for that eventuality, however, the quality of rooms differ so vastly that I would not choose to come again. It is definitely a gamble on your own luck whether you get a nicer room or a more run down one. The mattresses didn’t allow for a good nights sleep and sheets had marks on them.Major issue we had was a broken shower which was definitely a safety hazard. The rain shower rod kept popping off the wall and almost fell multiple times during one shower. If you don’t catch it quickly enough it could quite possible drop onto you and cause you to slip on the wet tiles. The hotel should make sure to fix these issues before guests stay in the room again.Overall, my experience with this hotel was quite bad and I would not recommend this to anyone.

The staff is so helpful!! I was so happy to get a balcony room ( there are only 4) as we were staying for 2 weeks. Rooms are European size, bathroom great and overall very clean. Love the area.

J'ai séjourné à l'Hôtel de France Invalides pendant mes vacances à Paris et j'ai adoré ! L'emplacement était fantastique, la chambre était douillette et confortable et le personnel était incroyable. Ils sont allés au-delà pour m'aider avec un problème de transport que j'ai rencontré pendant mon séjour. Fortement recommandé pour une expérience parisienne mémorable !

We stayed at the Hotel de France in July (family of 5 with 3 young children). Great location, clean rooms, amazing service... but above all, the breakfast buffet is out of this world and is by itself worth the stay.By far, the best value for the price I've experienced in Paris, will 100% go back on my next trip.

Suitable for business trips, great location, friendly staff. The room is rather small, as is the bathroom. Access is easy and close to the Eiffel Tower.

I had the opportunity to staying at this hotel with my family. Front desk was very helpful and respectful. Helped with any questions we had. But something I was against was the rooms don’t have and fridge but they do offer cold water or sparkled water downstairs at the bar to take back to your room for free.I really don’t care for the size of the room or anything I didn’t come to Paris to stay in the room and watch tv.The location was convenient close to restaurants and bakeries. Also, 7 minute wake to the Eiffel Tower. You can’t beat that.
