Simply Périgord

We have, with friends and family, booked our summer rentals through Simply Perigord for many years now. Returning to the Dordogne each summer has always been a delight and Simply Perigord have met our needs faultlessly. We have found the principals and staff unfailingly professional, caring and attentive. We had a wonderful time in Maison Rose. It is a beautiful house in a peaceful rural setting.

We have rented lovely, restored stone farmhouses in Dordogne from Simply Perigord over 5 times over the past 15 years, and have been extremely satisfied. The Simply Perigord staff have detailed knowledge of each property and were able to find us exactly the type of property in the location we were looking for. When the size of our extended family group increased last year, they even found us a second house adjacent to the one we had already rented, on very short notice, so that we were all able to be together. The houses are well maintained and clean, and in lovely settings. Simply Perigord makes it very easy for American or British tourists to rent vacation properties in France. Highly recommended.

Nous avons loué la maison de ville BUG 200 avec l'agence au début août. La maison correspond au descriptif du site mais il n'est nulle part indiqué le niveau du bruit de la route passant devant la maison. En pleine saison, il est assourdissant à certaines heures.Il y a un défaut manifeste d'information de la part de l'agence, qui même interrogée sur ce point avant la location, n'a pas répondu honnêtement. Au regard du prix payé en pleine saison, ceci n'est pas professionnel.

Lovely villa , clean modern and very comfortable

The team at Simply Périgord have been brilliant at every stage of our holiday. From initial enquiries to follow up care, not to mention the lovely property, everything was great. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

We have been hiring properties in the Dordogne with Karen and Allen for many years. They’re from GB so the team is fluent in English as well as French. They’ll advise you on property rental and even help you buy one and look after it for you when you’re not there. The properties are all of high quality, kept spotlessly clean and in unique locations, and they will help you every step of the way from finding the place to providing linen if you want it. The properties are priced according to how many they sleep: they’re not dirt cheap but reasonable considering the uniqueness of their styles and locations. And if you’ve never been to Perigord, you’re in for a surprise: in my view there’s nowhere on earth quite like it.

We have just returned from CUS274. The property had not been prepared for the season. We were the 1st people in it this year and the pool and outdoor dining area had not been cleaned since last year and were filthy. The garden was a mess. We negotiated a refund/gesture of goodwill from Simply Perigord of 500E at the end of our first week. We had septic tank problems in the second week that were not addressed until after we had left the property. Surprisingly shoddy service especially since our last holiday with SP was outstanding. The property is not worth the money that is being charged – it needs some serious attention (particularly the stained pool, cracked, broken and loose slabs around it), a deep, deep clean and tidy up and a septic tank empty/treatment before this cost can be justified. All problems, also including electrical were eventually dealt with but there was no extra effort made by SP to put right their very serious oversight in this instance of not preparing the property for rental. This was an unjustifiably expensive and disappointing experience: having to deal with all of it took a lot away from a much needed holiday. At the time of writing this review we have not had any correspondence from SP regarding the septic tank nightmare of week 2. Very poor customer service indeed and nothing like our last rental with them 18 years ago which was exceptional.
