Les Gites de Fontenioux

Matt and Martina are the perfect hosts. Their knowledge of the local area is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. The gites are situated in peaceful, idyllic surroundings and the pool is wonderful! The sun is there all day until around 8pm and the grounds are wonderful for you to take a walk in. The gites are clean, well kept and have everything that you’ll need for a self catering stay. Thank you both so much, we will be back!

Merci à Martina et Mathew pour leur accueil ! Propreté et confort sont au rendez-vous dans un espace très bien entretenu et très agréable. De l'espace, du calme, le chant des oiseaux, de jolies visites dans les alentours et la piscine en cerise sur le gâteau ! Nous recommandons sans hésiter !

This is a beautiful place to stay for a relaxing break. The location is peaceful and calming, yet close enough to many local attractions. The gites are very comfortable and well-equipped. The new owners, Matt and Martina, are fabulous hosts - nothing is too much trouble for them.

Fabulous place in gorgeous locationWe stayed for 4 nights, wish it could have been longer. Totally secluded. Rooms have everything you need and scenery is incredible. We played Boules in the evening and games and enjoyed bbqs. We went for long walks, the wildlife is amazing and enjoyed watching otters swimming and bought local goats cheese and visited the goats which are beautiful. We spent a full day in La Rochelle which is a must and Vouvant which is stunning, so quaint and picturesque. Matthew and Martina were the perfect hosts as nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend and will visit again.

Had a great holiday! It is so comfy and in a lovely location. Many things to see and do and the hosts were faultless. This would be a great place for any season, I felt very welcome and can’t recommend it enough! thank you x

We had a wonderful stay. Gite was clean and had everything you needed. Pool and garden were fabulous. Kids had great fun exploring the garden and catching crickets and frogs!! Lovely quiet location but close enough to shops/things to do. Matt and Martina were the perfect hosts, friendly and around if you needed any advice. Thank you for a great stay.
