Emmanuel International Church, Ternes

Highly recommend checking out EIC Ternes! Bible based teaching, genuine fellowship, and so much more! We are so thankful a friend told us about them when we struggled to find a church that we connected with on multiple aspects when we came here. We knew they were going to be our Paris church family after the first visit! You'll be so glad you came.

Very welcoming church – I definitely recommend it. Paul Helms, the lead pastor, truly cares about the community. Besides, it's not a very big church, so you can easily have conversations with people and hopefully develop meaningful relationships down the road. Last but not least, the Bible is preached accurately – something you should definitely be looking for if you desire to grow in your faith.

Christ-centered in everything they do, from the preaching to community activities to serving opportunities ! It’s a smaller congregation which makes it easier to build friendships and get to know other people.

Giving this church a try as a visitor for the first time, not a member or affiliated to the church in any way. Quite a noisy start with loud worship music and I did not receive any welcome greeting even though I arrived substantially early. If you like the old hymns which have sadly gone out of fashion with many younger christians you may not like the noise especially if you have tinnitus! Also my Bible talks about psalms and hymns, not just spiritual songs. I retreated to a quiet peaceful park nearby to return in 20 minutes to hear the sermon (if they still call it a sermon!) Returned after 30 minutes to hear the message. I'm pleased to say that there was quite an earnest message given from Psalm 67 but the amplification again was distracting and rather on the loud side in keeping with how the modern generation do things. Overall, there weren't many quieter moments throughout the meeting, but I'm of a different generation that this church doesn't cater for. Sometimes God speaks in a still small voice. Noise is not always a measure of how much God is at work! So, if you're an older saint in your golden years who likes the authorised version, hymns and the old paths you may not fit in here.

If you are looking to join Him where He is working, EIC Plant at Ternes is the place to go. With a vision to be a light in the City of Lights, you will be challenged and encouraged to grow and serve. There is a surprisingly large English speaking population in Paris and a handful of churches. We felt instantly at home in this family like congregation.

EIC is a doctrinally sound, Bible based church. I feel thankful and blessed to have found this community, even though it's quite far from my home. Every time I make it, it is truly a blessing. There is a nurturing community and Pastor Paul and his wife Abby are both wonderful. I have thoroughly enjoyed the worship, followed by a call for personal prayer requests, and very good sermons that are neither watered down, nor full of condemnation. Simply put, EIC is a place where the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is preached effectively.

A lovely and welcoming congregation. They will make you feel welcome whether you're here for many years or just the week..While not clear on the website, they have a children's that runs each Sunday during the service.
