We took the wine tour for €60/person. Our first stop, the wine museum where we went through a self-guided audio tour, which took about a 40 minutes. I'm sorry, but, if I had wanted to go to the wine museum, I would have do e it on my own. This was not relayed to us or we wouldn't have booked the tour. We then we tasted three wines at the museum. We then went to the town of Chateauneuf de Pape and our guide dropped us at the top of the castle ruins, there was little to no explanation of the area and sshe told our group to meet her by the fountain in town. We then went to a tasting room where we tasted a few more wines and finally, we stopped at the same winery tasting room but a different location and our tour was over. There was no education from our guide about the wines, no explanation about the region and for the amount of time we spent, 4.5 hours, I would have expected to taste more wine and certainly have more information.

Avoid Provence Travel Wine Tour!Recently, we took an afternoon tour, offered by Provence Travel, from Avignon to Pont de Gard, Tavel, and Chateauneuf. We had reserved it through Avignon Tourist Information. It was the worst wine tour that we have ever taken. A total rip! Although the tour guide was very nice, he spoke little English and provided only a few sentences of information on the three stops.We were so disappointed with what was advertised as wine tastings--one at a Tavel winery that provided no information on production or wine samplings without our asking questions and the other at a wine shop in town where the owner was too busy with sales to give us more than the name and vineyard of each wine. We would have done better at a wine shop in Avignon where we were staying and have saved ourselves 140 euros on the tours.We filed a complaint with Avignon Tourist Information and asked for a refund but to no avail. Provence Travel said they had fulfilled their tour obligations, and Avignon Tourist Information went with their plea and closed out our complaint, providing no customer satisfaction for a tour they had marketed.Please do not waste your money on this wine tour by Provence Travel. And please do not consider Avignon Tourist Information your friend because you reserved a tour through them. Both are equally disreputable.
