Chez Papa
I had the Escalope de Veau Campagnard on the waiter's recommendation. I was looking for an authentic French dish to cap my time in France. This ended up being the best meal I've had in Paris! Veal with scalloped potatoes topped with cheese and a sauce.. delicious :). Highly recommend coming here, close to Montparnasse station.

What a nice place to have a hearty lunch!I was invited to eat at this restaurant that may not appear to be the most notable or fancy to tourists, but it brought out some delicious food that I'm still dreaming about.The portion sizes are large, so come in VERY hungry! The flavors were so rich & flavorful, especially their buttery escargot that was so good I burned my tongue begging for seconds (do not follow my actions).I'd recommend that while the bread was a great compliment to the escargot, don't feel the need to keep eating it if you are full, because if you finish your basket, they WILL keep re-filling it.I can't say much other than the food was wonderful and the employees were kind and attentive to our needs, never leaving us needing to request anymore food or water as they were prepared to assist us.The staff spoke just enough English to understand us, but I wouldn't say it was fluent. So, if you feel uncomfortable at the thought of trying to clarify anything, then I'd advise you to visit a more touristic restaurant.Chez Papa is a down-to-earth spot for Parisian delicacies that'll keep your mouth watering for more. As an American, I felt welcomed into their home, and I would gladly visit again.

Très bon accueil, les plats sont bien servis, le magret au poivre vert est très bon, l'accompagnement de pommes de terres est généreux également. Côté dessert, la tarte tatin flambée à l'armagnac vaut vraiment le coup !

The ideal place to eat duck. Charming ambiance. Sympathetic owner. Friendly waiter. I highly recommend the magret with green pepper sauce, which is served with delicious sarladaise potatoes. Taste the foie de canard poêlé also.

Nice, rustic place in a cozy and casual atmosphere. Super traditional french cuisine with large portions at a fair price.Here you can find the local traditional french cuisine and they have variety of choices.We have ordered “escalope de canard auvergnate “ and “ entrecôte” both dishes were so tasty and the meat was soft with nice cheese on top.I am not sure if you need a reservation, because i came so late and i was surprised that they were still opened and served us with food.

Mostly good food but like much of Paris, it’s a bit too expensive for what it is. Had a nice seat by the open window next to street. Service was fine.Started with Papa’s escargot, which were a bit too bland and could’ve used more seasoning and absorbed more of the flavors of the sauce.Main was duck confit with leeks and potatoes. Potatoes were excellent; the duck was mostly good but could’ve had a better cook on some of them.Dessert was creme brulee which had rich custard, although crust could’ve been torched a more.

Nice place with good food, especially escargots. The staff very nice and helpful. During stay in Paris, in Montparnasse, it was one of our favourite restaurants. The only thing to improve is to reduce fat in the served dishes.

Prime rib was OK. Very fatty and zero seasoning (maybe seasoning is an American thing?) Potatoes were great! The goose liver pate was OK. Just not to my taste. Tried for the first time.

Was recommended Chez Papa for dinner by a friend. It's in a quiet neighborhood, not at all touristy. The poultry au gratin was amazing. Highly recommend. It's a very large portion, can easily be split.
