Château de Pleurs
We stayed at Chateau de Pleurs for a couple of nights this week to celebrate our friends wedding anniversary. We had a great time in the pool and enjoyed staying in the beautiful rooms in the chateau. It was a very peaceful place to stay and very relaxing. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for good value for money accommodation in a big group and for exploring a different part of the Champagne region.

Great big building. Nicely renovated rooms. Everything is really big and lots of space. The kitchen is a bit lacking however. Great pool area.

Fantastic! An amazing location to go with a group of friends. We went with a group of 20 and it was perfect. A great base to both explore the Champagne region from and also to relax in with friends and family. Rooms were all of a good size, with ensuite bathrooms. Living room and games room were a good size and even the dining room could seat us all. Good size grounds for a wander (not fully complete so more wild than manicured) with a swimming pool to relax round, or even swim in if you've not had too much of the Chateau's own branded champagne! There is a good local restaurant or you can arrange for caterers if you don't wish to be self-catering. The Chateau is treated very much as a home, so perfect for a large family or friends gathering, but be aware it is not a hotel (i.e. rooms do not have locks) and so do not expect 5* levels and 24hr room service. If that is what you are after this is probably not for you. However if you want a beautiful location, great value for money (it worked out less than a cheap hotel per night) and holiday memories to cherish then this is the place to go.

We recently spent 3 nights at Chateau de Pleurs with a group of friends and had a truly wonderful time. The Chateau is stunning and driving in though the main gates is truly breathtaking. All the rooms are beautifully furnished, the dining room is spectacular with all 20 of us seated comfortably at the vast table. The bedrooms are fabulous; our bed was Super King plus plus plus and so comfortable we almost didn’t want to get up for breakfast! However, as the weather was so glorious, we couldn’t resist a great continental breakfast al fresco every morning in front of the Chateau.Late afternoons (and a couple of early mornings by the super keen members of the group) were enjoyed in and by the pool drinking the excellent House Champagne before dinner provided by local caterers organised by the owners. If you want 7 star accommodations and manicured grounds then I suggest you book an alternative Chateau which will probably cost 3 times the amount. Chateau de Pleurs is excellent value for money especially for a large group like ours and highly, highly recommended for a relaxed, stress free break in an unpretentious yet stunning Chateau.

My friends and I rented the chateau and were the first guests under the new management. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and nice, but very disorganized. We were not made aware prior to arrival the chateau was under construction, which was a little disappointing. Because we had scheduled champagne tours (separately) for the majority of the day, it didn't effect us too much, but the grounds were in desperate need of landscaping. However, the rooms were beautiful and clean and very comfortable.A family member of the hosts catered dinners for us during our stay. The food was generally very good, especially for the price, but it was clear a group of 12 was too big for them to accommodate with their current staff and, as a result, while dinners were scheduled around 1930/2000, we often didn't receive our final course until close to midnight and then also had to clean. We were also subjected to corking fees for wine we brought ourselves despite having to open and serve it ourselves and were also charged for bottles of wine from the honesty bar that had gone off.Overall, the effort and responsiveness of the hosts went a long way and they were very willing to assist in language barriers with our drivers and constantly updating us and accommodating us with the changing COVID situation. I would be open to returning next year after they have had some time to work out the kinks in managing the property. It really is a beautiful area and gorgeous structure!

Very charming and original Chateau! Big domain, and spacious rooms. The only downsize is that if you want to go out to nice restaurants you need to drive quite some time to reach Epernay or Reims. The hosts were very helpful and friendly.
