Massif des Côtes | Le massif des Côtes s’étend sur 5 communes : Clermont-Ferrand, Durtol, Nohanent, Cébazat et Blanzat. S’il est identifié comme le cœur de nature à protéger dans le SCOT du grand Clermont et comme un réservoir de biodiversité à préserver pour le Schéma Régional de Cohérence Écologique, seule la partie clermontoise du site était labellisée ENS, dans un premier temps . Le périmètre labellisé a été étendu sur l'ensemble du massif en avril 2023, passant ainsi de 275 ha à 815 ha.

Climb to Puy de Chanturgue
A very steep climb to the Puy de Chanturgue, a wild mountain inside the city. A splendid view on Clermont-Ferrand and beyond. There are few trees so almost no shadow.Once up there, you can take any of the paths and get to another exit.Make sure to have good grippy shoes and enough strength. The climb up is exhausting and to get down sometimes I had to go on all fours.
