Domaine Taupenot-Merme

Excellent wines!

I have good news and bad news about the Domaine Taupenot-Merme Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2011. First, I had it at dinner at Batard in NYC - one of the best restaurants in the world. The fact that it made the Batard wine list at less than $100 speaks very well of the wine and I really enjoyed it. It's not too very fruit forward, very well balanced and nuanced.I liked it so much that I wanted to buy more from a retail store here in NYC. Unfortunately, the distributor, Winebow Inc., was useless. If I owned Domaine Taupenot-Merme, I would find a different one. I called the distributor twice to try to find a retail store in the NYC area that carried the wine and they were of absolutely no help. They referred me to their website and a list of almost 50 wine stores that might" have it. They had no idea what retail store carried the wine
