These are delicious wines. The rosés and whites are merely extremely good but the red Clos de Lievres is truly exceptional and shows real finesse. It’s almost chewy in the mouth, richly fruity but not cloyingly so, incredibly refined with the multilayered yumminess of a good Claret or one of those Sonoma Valley wines that tend not to leave California. The quality begins with an extraordinary terroir in a highly mineralised volcanic soil. The Mas Gabriel vines are always immaculate and harvested by hand. Vinification occurs in an immaculate cave. Supplies are limited. This wine is a real treat.
