Saint Stephen's Church of Dijon

L'église Saint-Étienne est une ancienne église catholique désaffectée située dans le centre sauvegardé de Dijon. Elle abrite aujourd'hui le musée Rude et une bibliothèque municipale depuis le déménagement en 2007 de la Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Dijon[1], ainsi que des services culturels dont le centre de documentation du musée des Beaux-Arts. L'église date du xve siècle et a été restaurée au xviie siècle . Sa façade actuelle de style jésuite est du xviiie siècle[1].L'église fait l’objet d’un classement au titre des monuments historiques par la liste de 1862[2].

It's a historical monument listed in Dijon. It dates back to the fifteenth century and now houses the Rude Museum and the municipal library, The Nave. The Jesuit façade of the main entrance is what's really striking about this remarkable building. Inside, if you're visiting the library, the remnants of the old nave is preserved and still looking spectacular, with modifications to suit its current use. Historically fascinating and it ties in with the Tower of Saint Nicolas, the leper colony church now only has the belfry tower remains.
