Hôtel Le Chaplain Paris Rive Gauche

It's not a four star hotel. There was mould in the bathroom and the floors were dirty. The shower door on the bath is so narrow the water automatically splashes all over the floors. When someone showered above us we could hear the water gushing down the pipes so loudly it woke us during the night.Our room was right beside the stairs on a narrow landing. In order to lock it, you're basically standing with your back to the stairs at the very top battling with two doors because it has a fire door and a normal door one after another. It's extremely unsafe.It was 6°c at night but there was no heating. When we asked why it wasn't working, staff said they couldn't switch the heating on yet, we only had AC. We got an extra blanket for the last night but then the bed linen was covered in mould, so we were left with one blanket again... It's just unacceptable and disgusting.The gluten free option is just bread, there's no seperate toaster or anything so if you're celiac it's not really safe.The staff were always nice and polite, they tried to be helpful but unfortunately the hotel itself just does not live up to its supposed four star rating at all.

Stayed here for a few days with my girlfriend, the hotel itself was lovely, clean and the rooms were comfortable! The staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. It's located in a very nice spot, with lots of restaurants, bars and access to the metro lines. Well worth a stay in Paris!

A must stay hotel and location. Very friendly and helpful staff, great service and facilities. I will definitely return here.

A great hotel for a few nights. The rooms are tiny compared to U.S. hotels and there are not enough outlets. However still worth a stay.

Wish I could rate higher. We found bed bugs on the second night of our stay October 19th, 2022. My wife found one dead on the floor and two alive in bed. She has the pictures of them on her phone. The hotel gave us a full refund. Luckily there were not more that we saw and they did not invade our stuff. Could have been left from another guest or it is a reflection of the hotels cleanliness.Our second issue was the karaoke bar on the street next too the Hotel. Very load with people talking outside our windows and music playing until 2am. If you get a street facing room this could be a issue.The staff here was very helpful and polite. It is centrally located in the Latin district, a nice variety of snacks and drinks in each room provided by the hotel. The breakfast each morning was bit basic but did have options.All in all cannot recommend this hotel because of the bugs and loud music.

The hotel is centrally located and all the public transports are just few meters away. Felt the rooms are bit small. The staffs are nice and friendly. Lots of restaurants are near by to try the food in Paris . Overall I am satisfied for my stay here.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful upon arrival. Jean-Baptiste was professional, friendly and a calming presence, welcoming us with coffee and local recommendations. Very happy and a great start to our trip.

Poor cleaning (sometimes without cleaning service at all - when I claimed for it, the response was that they were having issues with the staff but that the towels had been changed...)In 6 days, I run out of hot water twice.Internet was unavailable in my computer. When I asked, they said the issue happened regularly with some devices...4 stars for this type of service and hotel, is definitely too much.

L hôtel est bien placé, le personnel est très sympa.En revanche, les rideaux et les coussins (en deco) ne sentaient vraiment pas bon (odeur de transpiration). Sinon pour le reste ok.

I am sorry to say that the hotel is not what I expected. I do not like to be negative but a 4 star hotel can not have dirty bathrooms or dusty rooms. The positive part is given by the hotel central position and by the staff who is very kind and does its best to supply a decent service to us guests.
