We spent a lovely week with Marion and Meli. The cooking course was great fun and Meli introduced us to some very interesting wines. Marion is an excellent prof! Very enthusiastic and fun--makes learning French a pleasure.

The week my husband and I spent with Marion and Mélie was a dream come true. I have wanted to do a French language class in France for years, but was very nervous. Marion made the experience comfortable and fun. She helped me with conversation and verbal comprehension, providing gentle coaching along the way, while also teaching me about aspects of French culture. We were very glad we added on the “Wine Experience” with Mélie. While hardly experts, we enjoy wine, and it was great fun to learn more about the local wines. And, the wine pairing dinner Mélie prepared for our first night was spectacular.Although he is not learning French, my husband enjoyed the time every bit as much as I did. Marion and Mélie are truly delightful and welcoming. We enjoyed English conversation at breakfast and during the delicious lunches Marian prepared for us, and I worked on my French skills for three hours each morning. The excursions were fun and fascinating, and they incorporated a mix of French and English so that we both enjoyed the experiences.Their home is lovely and peaceful, and the student flat is roomy and comfortable. We appreciated the beautiful views of the Beaujolais countryside.Truly a wonderful experience in every way!

I had one of my most memorable trips to France last fall. I stayed one week at the lovely homestead of Marion Ferret in a combined program of French immersion and French cuisine and wine appreciation which was given by Mélie Valiant . Both Marion and Mélie are extremely competent in their field . During the week we visited wineries, restaurants, caves, tasting rooms, castles. Some of the best times we spent at the patio overlooking such a beautiful pastoral scene, sipping great wines, and learning the language and the nuances of wine tasting. We also visited the region of Jura, another highlight in our short but intense week. Everything was so wonderful. I can’t wait to visit this piece of paradise again and reconnect with my friends Marion and MelieDiogo Belo

Going to France to learn with Marion and Mélie was the best thing I could have done ! Both of them were so patient with me learning French. Marion is very prepared to respond to student needs. Mélie opened my eyes to the world of wine. I could tell that she really loves wine and she loves teaching about it. How lucky I was to have both of them teaching me!

I have just got back from a fabulous week with Marion and Mélie at A Taste of French. For me, it was a perfect blend of being able to practice my French with native speakers, whilst also visiting the region and learning more about wine. The week flew by too quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The days generally started with a relaxed breakfast whilst we chatted about anything and everything, followed by a language session which Marion tailored to my particular needs and wishes. This was followed by a delicious lunch, then the afternoons provided opportunities for visits to interesting places, or a walk in the lovely countryside, or simply relaxing with a good book (in French of course!).I chose to add the wine experience with Mélie, which was fascinating, with a visit to a vineyard, tutored tastings and a wine pairing dinner: delicious, informative and a great opportunity for more French speaking practice. All in all, I thoroughly recommend a stay with Marion and Mélie at A Taste of French and I cannot wait to visit again. What I cannot emphasise enough is the warm welcome that I received and the way in which the language learning is tailored perfectly to your ability, needs and preferences. If you just want to practice chatting, Marion has lots of interesting topics to discuss. If you prefer walking and talking - no problem, bring your walking boots! And if you fancy sitting at the kitchen table chatting to Marion, perfecting your listening skills or nailing a grammar point, it's all possible, just ask. Merci mille fois Marion et Mélie, et à la prochaine !

We had the most wonderful experience with Marion and Mélie. We are so glad to have found them. Our trip more than met our expectations for a French language immersion experience. Both Marion and Mélie were professional and understanding and our lessons were interesting and fun. We also signed up for the cooking classes and wine tasting and would highly recommend this experience as well. We hope to return in the future for more learning, fun, and laughter.

A Taste of Authentic French Country LivingMy language immersion with Marion and Mélie (atasteoffrench.com) was more than just a taste of French; it was a taste of authentic French Country Living. Situated among farms and pastures, and surrounded by vineyards of the famous Beaujolais region, I experienced the quiet joy of life in the French countryside, all the while being immersed in the French language (with Marion as my guide) and in the world of French County Cooking and wine tasting (with Mélie pointing the way.)No words that I could write will ever do justice to the joy and power of the experience.Marion, in addition to being an excellent French teacher, is as passionate, cheerful, and warm a human being as you could hope to meet. She's the kind of person who gives me hope for the human race. Mélie’s gastronomy is about home cooking using simple techniques and delicious ingredients (often directly from the nearby garden). Her approach to wine is informed but playful. Mélie is quite the character actually. She is intelligent and witty and has the most expressive face. It’s funny but I found myself unconsciously imitating her facial expressions by the end of the week. What I learned did not come from lists of vocabulary or rules of grammar. It came from breathing in the culture, savoring the taste of good food and wine, and rejoicing in the peace of the countryside. What I learned from the immersion, more than anything else, was the courage to speak and the patience to listen. At the beginning of the week, Marion and Mélie were my teachers. By the end of the week, they were family.

I have just come back from two wonderful weeks of French immersion with Marion and Melie in their cozy home amid the Beaujolais vineyards, and I could not recommend their French language course, cooking demonstrations and wine tasting more! Marion had endless patience with my bad French and gave me the confidence to keep talking even when I could not find the right words. And Melie’s cooking skills and knowledge of wines were just amazing. It is really not every day that you get private wine pairing lessons by a professional sommelier. My two weeks with Marion and Melie passed much too fast, but I will definitely be coming back!
