Le Manoir Du Bout Du Pont
The Manoir is a magnificent setting for a wedding. The space allows for many options for your wedding day and we had a truly magical wedding. It is spacious, charming and really quite a wonderful place. Nothing that has happened since will change that. Unfortunately, like a recent reviewer, our experience with the new owner was not so magical.Firstly, we were hassled from arrival via emails to our wedding planner to pay for the so called ‘extras’ in cash. These are costs that are not included in the five figure hire charge and are a throwback to the previous owners. To pay €50 for a freezer in the barn kitchen that sits alongside two fridge freezers for which you don’t pay is ridiculous. You also have to pay €100 for fixed fairy lights that hang over the grass courtyard. The owner turned up on the wedding day, unsmiling, demanding cash for the extras. All a bit dodgy. The actual nightmare started on checkout. A member of the owner’s staff, who checked every room and the outside spaces, agreed that all was in good order as we left. Little did we know …Only a few hours later our wedding planner received an email stating that we had left the property in a ‘deplorable’ and pigsty like’ condition. I was astounded so returned to the Manoir. We were met by the owner pointing to a single piece of paper on the circular drive. I kid you not. This might have been topped by a single piece of popcorn found under a bed. It continued in this vein. Some things I accept were not quite right - some cigarette butts and a small bathroom bin bag had been missed, a few items in the barn kitchen and bar needed more cleaning, as well as some discarded lemons by the grass. My sister, daughter and I were marched around the property and spent no more than an hour addressing all these points. Luckily we videoed every room so as to be able to disprove the owner’s later email that she still had to clear up further waste. The pettiness of what was a problem was almost unbelievable. The attached photos demonstrate this as well as showing how clean we left the property. Finally we come to the deposit. Like a previous reviewer, we have had nearly €500 retained for so called missing or broken items. One charge is for an old sun lounger, in a state of disrepair, which split at the very worn side immediately when someone sat down on it. I attach a photo of other similar loungers at Le Manoir to show the age. We were charged for a missing pool thermometer but I had a date and timed video showing it in the pool on check out so the response changed, suspiciously, to it now being broken as opposed to missing. There was also a claim for four white towels which we were told were washed six times and the stains could not be removed. The owner had shown us every towel (not a joyful experience), a few of which had make up or bronzer marks on them. And don’t forget you are provided with just one thin white towel for five days in temperatures of 30+ degrees so they naturally get a little dirty. There was also a €60 charge for ‘time and transport to order new items’.Having raised my objections via email I got a long, defensive and detailed justification for each point - as no doubt will appear at the bottom of this review in due course. Check out the previous review and tone deaf response and you’ll get an idea of who you’ll be dealing with. Interestingly, on leaving the second check out appointment, the owner’s daughter, who accompanied us,, apologised for the way her mother was behaving. To conclude, I would not recommend this venue purely because of the style of ownership. You also have no comeback at all on the deposit. The owner can retain what she wants (as happened with the previous reviewer for so called excessive use of the grass). Be warned!

Le Manoir du bout du Pont is one of the most beautiful venues that I’ve had the privilege to shoot as a wedding photographer. It is steeped in history and is located in one of the most beautiful parts of France on the border of Dordogne and Lot et Garonne. Its beauty and location make it an incredibly special venue that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. It has a stunning and generous amount of accommodation and facilities. Offering a selection of various spaces for different parts of your celebration - not to mention a fantastic pool which certainly helps with some good R&R after your party! The outside space and gardens are simply spectacular and really epitomise the beauty of the French countryside. If you are looking for a wedding venue full of charm and romance, I highly recommend Le Manoir du bout du Pont. It really is the perfect place to host your big day!

Le Manoir Du Bout Du Pont
A lovely wedding venue and luckily you have the chance to do a DIY wedding, so you as the wedding party are in full control of how your day goes. Our day was perfect, but our whole wedding experience was not… The owner is refusing to repay 300 EUR of our deposit as she is saying that we misused the grass. Initially the owner claimed we used the grass as a dance floor after incorrectly assuming that videos of us dancing at the local Sauvetat repas on the Friday night was in fact her lawn. The internal lawn she is referring to was only used during our canapés on Saturday - something that all weddings do at this venue - so this is extremely disappointing to have money taken from us for this. When we arrived the grass was looking yellow and brown in many areas (which we have photos of), just as it does everywhere in South West France in July. Yes, when we had visited the venue in Spring, the grass had been lush and green but there wasn’t much we could do in the 40 hours before our wedding as you can’t regenerate grass in a day!We enjoyed our stay even though there were a few issues, which in all honesty we were not going to mention but due to the petty deposit retention I feel obliged to inform others.Firstly, there was a bee infestation in the bridal suite (that was also an issue for the previous wedding). Despite messaging the owner about this when we arrived, this issue was ignored for the entirety of our stay. As such we had around 30-50 bees per day crawling around our floor. Not ideal for getting a good nights sleep or for your wedding dress!Secondly, when we arrived the BBQ was filthy and had no gas (which is listed as included in the stay). Rather than offering to bring us gas, the owner told us where to go and buy one. We didn’t make a fuss despite having to keep 10 people waiting for dinner whilst we drove around to source a gas canister.Thirdly, and perhaps the most stressful thing, was discovering about a week before our wedding that the pool was completely green and resembled a pond. Our wedding was over two days - and the pool at the Manoir was key to the success of our pool party on the Sunday, so learning that the two weddings before us had not had this rectified was extremely worrying. After several messages with the owner, the pool was drained and refilled before our stay thankfully - but this was very stressful to deal with in the days before your wedding. It’s such a shame to have to bring these things up, as our wedding was amazing. It is a great “blank canvas” venue to create your own wedding with many lovely outdoor areas and a great barn. It’s just a shame to have such a sour taste left in your mouth after an utterly amazing weekend.

We first met Angela and Roddy back in 2019 and fell in love with the venue as it had the intimacy factor that the big chateaus lacked. After Covid cancelled our wedding 2 years in a row we finally had our big day in July 2022 and it was everything we'd hoped for an more. All of guests (many of them had never been to SW France) were in awe of the venue and had a wonderful time staying locally in Eymet too.We feel like we've made friends in Angela and Roddy who were equally excited about our wedding as we were.I'd recommend marrying here without question and I hope we'll return one day to stay again.Thank you!
