Rene is a great tour guide and really let you experience what happened during d-day. Loved every minute.

First I would like to say what an incredible experience this was. There were only 4 of us so he drove us in his SUV, however I'm sure if he had a larger group he would make arrangements. He was very responsive over email in the months leading to the tour. I also communicated with him when we arrived in Paris and the night before we left for the Carentan train station.We started the tour with a debrief in his home that is literally at the edge of the plaza of the St. Mere Eglise (the famous one from the Longest Day movie). He explained where we would be going and showed us pictures of what we were going to see. We then headed out to Utah Beach, Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. The entire time he was explaining and giving us perspective that is impossible to know unless you've been to these places. He was able to tailor our experience with the experience of the 29th infantry division that my great great uncle was a part of allowing us a personalized tour that I could never have imagined. Onze tour was heel informatief. Ik ben zelf een tweede wereldoorlog verzamelaar. Ik weet er ook redelijk van af. Maar de plekken waar we met deze tour geweest zijn en dat info die hij erbij leverde was erg bijzonder en gedetailleerd. Een echte aanrader voor de liefhebber!

Rene knowledge of the D-Day landings is extensive. What really made our 2 days were the stories of events that took place throughout the weeks/months of battle in this area. The battle for La Fiere Bridge, individual stories about American and German soldiers, the guns at Pointe Du Hoc and more.Renee has several personal relationships with American veterans who took part in D-Day, sadly many have past. He also has learned to jump with the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team.We were a group of 5 and our tours were a full 9 hour day that went by so fast. Lunch spots were excellent. You won’t be disappointed.

Heel af en toe kom je een persoon tegen die met bijzonder veel passie en enthousiasme kan vertellen.Zo'n persoon is Rene! We hebben ademloos geluisterd naar alle verhalen en een bijzonder intressante tour meegemaakt! De plekken waar wij geweest zijn had ik zelf nooit zomaar gevonden en als je dan ook de complete historie van die locaties te horen krijgt, maakt het voor mij een tour om nooit meer te vergeten.Een absolute aanrader en ik heb al plannen om een andere tour te boeken bij Rene volgend jaar.

We spent 2 wonderful days (Sept., 2017) in St Mere Eglise at La Haule B&B. We took the 1-full day tour (guide was Rene) and had a great educational experience . Our father was a paratrooper in the 82nd 505, on D-Day and our guide was very knowledgeable about the location, troop movements in the area, and assignments of the various divisions. We would highly recommend this tour and B&B stay at the historical location. Breakfast was very good and the entire stay was a good value. 1 day is a little short and we wish we would have done a 2 day tour.

We booked an all day tour from Bayeux to Omaha and Utah Beaches, Pointe de Hoc, and American Cemetary on the internet March 30, 2017. We were at the pick up at 8:45, supposed to be a 9 departure. We waited until 11, two other people showed up for the same tour. No one showed or contacted us. We made phone calls with no response. Very disappointing, we only had two days and one wasted getting to battlefields. My husband's father arrived on Omaha Beach on D-Day. I don't know how this company got 5 stars. I would never recommend it!!!!!

Great guide who knows a lot and takes you really through D-Day. Comfortable van and audio. Worth every penny!

We just returned to the U.S. after a 2-week vacation visiting relatives in the UK. While there, we decided to fulfill a long-awaited dream and crossed the English Channel to Caen via Brittany Ferries, traveling from there on to Bayeux by train. Visiting the Normandy Beaches had been a goal of ours for many, many years, as numerous WWII veterans from our area had been involved in the landings at Omaha Beach . We chose Gold Beach Company to guide us, as they offered small group tours and a day-long event, which we hoped would give us a more in-depth, detailed experience. They did not disappoint! Our tour guide, Matt, did a phenomenal job! He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, is as passionate as we are about the history of the area, and patiently answered our many questions throughout the day. He has an innate ability to sense when to disseminate more detailed information and when to step back and quietly allow group members to absorb all that they are seeing and feeling. Best of all, we never felt rushed or pushed to move on to the next phase of the tour. The pacing was perfect for us. We could not have been more pleased with our experience and highly recommend the Normandy D-Day Beaches tour (especially with Matt as a guide) for anyone with an interest in this part of history!
