La Bastide - Luxury Gites

Our third visit but the first in early summer. We loved it even more. At this time of year we felt immersed in the outdoors. We enjoyed eating outside, watching the birds of prey circling in the thermals, the pool and enjoying a glass of wine all the while. Thanks for a really memorable stay this year

So that my family and friends (17 of us) could stay and help celebrate my 70th birthday, we booked all three of Janine and Steve’s stunning gites. We are very grateful for their help in organising three days of celebration and fun. Friday evening started with an “Apero” hosted by Steve and Janine. Everybody enjoyed lots of delicious canapes and snacks and sampled the local wine and beer. All al fresco, overlooking one of the three beautiful valleys which surround their property.On the Saturday, Steve and Janine arranged for tables and chairs to be set up under a gazebo outside the old barn and for local company, La Cuisine des Anges, to serve us a wonderful and memorable meal. The meal, which took all afternoon to eat, included separate courses of canapes, mussels, crevettes, duck liver salad, Coq au vin, French cheese and apple tart with vanilla ice cream. The meal was complemented with local sparkling rose wine and beer. We give huge thanks to chef Leo and his team for the impeccable and friendly service.Sunday was games and competition day! Everyone enjoyed table football, outdoor Jenga and Connect Four before splitting into two teams for a series of Nerf wars". Afterwards we felt we had earned a barbecue on the terrace of The Farm

Fantastic location and accommodation here. We stayed for 5 nights with family residing in The Farmhouse, Grange and Cottage for a family wedding. Wonderful host family also. We would love to book for August 2020 but unfortunately response is a little slow by email. We would love to take this fabulous corner of The Tarn again.

I don't want to say how fabulous this place is in case it gets all booked up and we can't come back! La Bastide is perfect in every respect: the Cottage, the setting, the countryside, the pool (oh! the pool!) and of course the hosts. Book. Book now. (Just try to leave a week somewhere so we can go back, please).

The properties were utilised for a birthday gathering of friends and family for a week. It was fabulous in catering for every guest's own pace of holiday and accommodating a variety of joint activities with the easy ability to spend quieter time when required in smaller groups.The pool is excellently maintained which made for a wonderful retreat during the hot weather and is only a moment's walk from the property. There is ample room on the terrace for entertaining and outdoor meals, with a barbeque and large parasol providing everything needed for easy socialising day or evening.Children are easily entertained with a large variety of outdoor games and facilities to play with; a large area to explore; boardgames and a smart TV enabling access to a multitude of channels.There are many picturesque local towns and amenities are not far away, which the hosts are knowledgdeable of and happy to advise upon. In terms of self-catering, supermarkets and hypermarkets are only a short drive from the property.A respectful conversion of the property maintains the historical beauty within whilst ensuring that modern conveniences such as a coffee machine and modern cooking appliances are in abundance. The hosts maintain a spectacular balance between being helpful without being intrusive and made our party feel like family.It's a beautiful pocket of countryside perfect for a relaxing retreat away from the busy modern world and there would be no hesitation in recommending the property to other holidaymakers.

My family and I stayed at La Bastide for a week and it just wasn’t long enough! It’s in such a beautiful setting and in such a beautiful region. So, whether you explore the area or just take local walks and lounge by the pool, it’s the perfect place to be. Thanks Steve, for our wonderful stay.

Steve is a great host. We've stayed at La Bastide on several occasions with and without our kids and always had a great time.

Friendly, remote, quiet. Nice area. Small roads. Shops 20 minutes away. Need a car. Gîtes fully equipped. Good for dogs. Youth enjoyed pool.

Lieu très reposant au cœur de paysages de campagne, ressourçant, calme et très beau. Beaucoup de lumière, les ouvertures donnent toutes sur vues dégagées. Chants des oiseaux très présent et agréable, coucher de soleil visible certains soirs. La chaumière est moderne tout en conservant un aspect chaleureux avec le poêle à bois qui chauffe rapidement les pièces. Le propriétaire est sur place et très arrangeant, je n'ai manqué de rien. J'y ai vécu plusieurs mois et j'en garderai un excellent souvenir.
