Kiedy powstawał, plac nosił nazwę Place Grolier , w hołdzie wpływowej w Lyonie rodzinie Grolier, która dostarczyła miastu kilku prepozytów kupców .Plac został przemianowany na Place Gailleton w 1913 roku, w hołdzie Antoine'owi Gailletonowi , lekarzowi z Lyonu. Nabrzeże biegnące wzdłuż placu również utrwala jego pamięć.Źródło: wikipedia

Très jolie monument de l'ancien maire de Lyon Antoine Gailleton. Situé dans une petite place qui porte le même nom. Au dos de monument on trouve une plaque mémorial qui porte d'information sur le maire Gailleton.

Magnifique monument sur une place historique de Lyon. Nous aimons cette entrée sur la presque île de Lyon et au quartier huppé mais très discret d’Ainay. Je recommande vivement le détour.
