Loire Life Cycling Holidays

Ali and Jon offer superb accommodation, brilliantly varied cycle routes, excellent bikes, and truly astonishing cuisine. In a week we sampled the best of the Loire region in mid summer with a pool and spa bath to unwind in after our wonderfully varied rides. The hospitality is discreet, and the services on offer efficiently professional. I am so looking forward to my return visit! I could not recommend Loire Life Cycling Holidays more highly!

My friend and I chose Loire Life Cycling as we wanted a single centre cycling holiday. Jon and Ali were superb hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. The accommodation was absolutely lovely and comfortable. The bikes supplied were great, the routes were well planned and easy to follow and the countryside was stunning. Each morning we have a lovely breakfast including fresh pastries. When we returned after cycling each day we had a dip in the pool whilst our dinner was being cooked for us by Holly. Dinner consisted of 4 courses including a cheese course prepared using fresh mainly local ingredients and every meal was delicious! There was plenty of good quality local wine accompanying our meal too! I cannot recommend Loire Life Cycling enough and certainly hope to visit again in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent cycling holiday and endorse everything that previous guests have said about Loire Life. The week flew by and we could happily have stayed for longer!Jon, Ali and Ruby made us feel very welcome from the start and are great hosts. Everything is so carefully and meticulously planned, from the daily rides to the delicious meals each morning and evening. Jon gave good advice about the routes available and kindly offered to provide alternative routes when we had a slight rain delay one day. Ali is an excellent cook who happily catered for our dietary requirements. I have never tasted so many different cheeses!If you enjoy cycling in beautiful countryside on quiet roads, excellent food and wine and comfortable, clean accommodation in lovely grounds then book now. You will not regret it!

My wife Carla and I had 5 fantastic days with John & Ali, everything was so well organised the accommodation was terrific the food was amazing great bikes along with suggested routes Cafes and Restaurants to enjoy. I would highly recommend Loire Life Cycling, Carla had an electric bike as she really hadn’t ridden a bike for many years however she enjoyed every minute a must do. David

We spent a week here in early June. The scenery was terrific--lovely rose gardens, fields of poppies, ancient forests, picturesque villages and chateaus everywhere. Alison and Jon were wonderful hosts--they had terrific routes mapped out for our self-guided cycling tour. We brought two bikes and rented one from them that was in tip-top shape. We ate out a couple of nights but their food was so good we wound up dining in most of the time for a very reasonable price. The grounds are lovely and the rooms are clean and comfortable, with great common spaces. We appreciated having a laundry machine to wash our cycling stuff each night. WiFi in one of the lodges was a bit slow, but plenty fast in the other one. I can't really think of anything bad to say, and I am pretty good at saying bad stuff!

What a wonderful time we had at Guy de Rey! Jon and Ali were fantastic hosts providing us with loads of options for our group's cycling pursuits and, more importantly, presenting us with a delicious meal every night to be enjoyed in the relaxing surroundings of their fabulous farmhouse. We had a wonderful time exploring the Loire - and at the end of each day, the lovely pool was a welcome retreat from the very warm weather we were so fortunate to have. A wonderful week of cycling through quaint towns and beautiful scenery. Jon and Ali not only were great hosts but they went over and above to ensure everyone was enjoying their trip. Ali is a terrific cook so we all ate quite well. Jon made sure the bikes were always in good condition and he personally mapped out our daily rides. It was a fantastic vacation!

We had the most fabulous time on this tour! The rides are carefully curated so even those not used to sharing the road with cars feel safe, the different places to visit provide genuine variety to each day, and the pleasure of unpacking once and enjoying five very different days riding can never be underestimated. The icing on the cake was Ali’s wonderful cooking each evening. I highly recommend Loire Life Cycling if you want a holiday that’s little different.

We loved our week at Leguederay, cycling out bravely from our comfortable abode after petit-dejeuner - to a new location every morning. Returning in the afternoons or being picked up by Jon in the van with bike trailer. Being fed by the lovely Ali each evening, smiling happily, sometimes giggling. Always a fabulous dinner, cheeses, wines. Beautiful desserts. So good, so very very good. Thank you.
